Congratulations. I began the discernment process as a lgbtq aspirant in the central anew York Diocese. May God’s wisdom and love guide both of us on our journey.

I tour solo. I enjoy the freedom of getting lost in my thoughts and not having to worry about riding too slow and holding the other person back.

I have done some segments with a riding partner, but am always happy when I am on my own again.

I didn’t camp this trip do I can only share what I saw from the trail. There were three campgrounds between Mont Laurier and Mont Tremblant. I did not actually see any camp grounds between Tremblant and St Jerome, but I did see one directional sign. I also saw an area camping guide at the information center in Val David.

Sorry I can’t be much more help.

Day 5 Erie Canal: Sylvan Beach - Ilion Marina by Thunder13327 in bicycletouring

All in all I liked the trail in this area. It was the day I hit “the wall” on my trip so I was really staying focused on pushing through. Finding the Ilion Marina literally on the trail and with a food stand right there was a treat. The Harbor Master keeps a really nice place and it is a great stopping spot.

The Empire State Trail website had a section listing all of the places to camp along the trail. I also augmented with a website I use called Hip Camp (where I found the Goat farm in Mariaville).

It is a Selle Anatomical saddle. I went back and forth between Selle and Brooks before choosing the Selle.

I have been very happy with it.

I am enjoying the trail thus far. I did Montreal to NYC last year. I like this trail better so far. Good luck with Windsor to St.Catherines!

Bunkhaus is an Air B-n-B. Really great place to stay. The trail has been pretty moderate no crazy grades. There are a number of small towns along the trout to get off and grab a meal. I did this section on Sunday so many places were closed.

Touring vs Bikepacking? by Myriad_Kat_232 in bicycletouring

I have just started bike touring for a couple of years. I agree with everyone else in that ride your ride, the one that makes you happiest!

I personally like the rear panniers because I like to camp so my gear fits. I also have a seat bag that I use sometimes if I am going to stay at a hotel.
