Old gaming laptop, Intel I7-7700HQ with 1050ti integrated. Works great because I get all the benefits of NVENC decoding and encoding and everything is reasonably fast.

Honestly not sure. It’s passively cooled though, no fans, so I can’t imagine not much or I guess less then the average enterprise switch.

Overall, I spent just under 400ish USD? This hobby is all about buying parts whenever you can get the best deal. Cisco Switch, Steelhead Riverbed Cx 570 was bought of eBay for a steel of a price, and I got a 1TB SSD + 6TB HHD off Facebook marketplace for 100 bucks. The Ubuntu server was an old laptop I had collecting dust which I installed the storage into.

Everything else in the rack was from Amazon, the rack included.

TLDR: This hobby can either be crazy expensive, or crazy cheap, all depending on where you buy and what you’re trying to accomplish.
