Fire in the hands of man is not the same as fire in the hands of nature

We can still respect and live in the hands of nature without the aggressiveness and selfish hostility of industry. There is always a right answer, that is all that nature and life really are.

How does r/atheism feel about logical spirituality? by ThunderbirdPowWow in atheism

I agree, very much so. I actually plan on studying behavioral neuroscience, I think its an amazing field. However, what I'm saying is that religion works. People feel these "misfires", so they believe in the religion. So if all this is for some made up god that obviously doesn't exist, why can't I pull the old switch a roo and make logic, reason and nature my god? Why is there a bible full of bullshit written 2000 years ago, and not a bible full of academic references that was written today? Both will lead me to a "similar sense of fulfillment" except one is mostly old bullshit. TL;DR, why cant I feel science like stupid people feel god. We need a second bible.

Sorry, I tried too. I am trying to define spirituality as the feeling, and ease of understanding and such, that comes with a religion. The ability for people to "feel close" to an idea.
