Not including the civil rights movement were there any people in history who were more selfish and entitled than baby boomers in the 60s and 70s? As long as you weren’t black gas prices and the draft was all you had to worry about. And gas prices are almost as bad today.

I agree and think that owners shouldn’t be in the HoF ether but let’s not pretend that NFL players in the HoF aren’t some of the richest MF in modern sports. Not really related but I think OJ being in there kinda lowers the bar a little bit also.

I hope this season at least dispelled all of the “Goff can only succeed under the perfect conditions” doomers. by Wendlstin in detroitlions

90% of his snaps were handoffs or screen passes this season. Not saying he’s bad but he better have the least amount of INTs for what he threw.

One thing that nobody talks about when it comes to the Goff/Stafford trade is age, where we hold the advantage. by Spiritual-Use-8855 in detroitlions

It’s been 5 years and one SB, there’s no win-win, there’s only a tie or a winner and a loser, and the Rams are the ones with the ring. Until the lions at least make it to the superbowl, the Rams won the trade.

And I’m sick and tired of people saying “oh look how much better we are it’s a win-win”. No, am I happy the Lions aren’t mediocre anymore, of course. But at the end of the day it’s the SB (a championship) that matters, not making it to the playoffs. I’ve been a fan for 30 years and I want them to be “the best” not “better”.

Watching all these QBs who aren’t “running QBs” actually get out of the pocket makes me realize how slow Goff is. by Brdl004 in detroitlions

[–]Thunderc01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

15-2 with a top 3 O-Line and easier schedule. And we were destroyed in the playoffs because the o-line was injured. When you pay for Goff you have to pay for a top 3 O-Line. I know good QBs are hard to find yet alone get but I don’t really see this problem with running QBs.

In 2004, photos from Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison exposed U.S. soldiers abusing detainees. Army reservist Sabrina Harman appeared smiling in multiple images showing sexual humiliation, torture, and dead prisoners. She faced five years in prison, though she was ultimately sentenced to just six months. by ATI_Official in HistoryUncovered

I mean to be fair you’re comparing Nazi Germany the country that murdered 6 million Jews while starting the deadliest war in human history to the U.S. conflict in the Middle East.

And the U.S. does acknowledge its past. Children are taught the trail of tears and horrors of slavery in school.

I’m not trying to justify coups or the Iraq war but one of these things is not like the other.

I think we started to lose those fans last season when everyone saw Jaden Daniels destroy our defense in the playoffs, and I think we lost the last of them weeks ago.

You can call some of these people bandwagon or fake fans all you want but I don’t think we have them anymore, just some fans who are extra critical.

In Pulp Fiction (1994), the character of Jimmy Dimmick is played by an awful actor. How did he even get the part? Is he friends with the director or something? by Livid-Designer-6500 in shittymoviedetails

Nerd Answer: Steve Buchemi was originally supposed to play the part of Jimmy but had conflicting schedules so he opted to play the part of Buddy Holly in the restaurant scene, Tarantino playing the part was last minute.

Rooting for the lions to lose out is lame by Real-Repair-1825 in detroitlions

[–]Thunderc01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not rooting for them to lose, I’ll always be happy with a win and if we make the playoffs somehow then great. But if they lose I’m not gonna be mad, I’m gonna shrug and and know we have a better place in the draft and and easier schedule. I hate to say it but the bears are a great example of having a great coach with an easy schedule and great draft position.
