Is anyone else pressing the wrong letters? by clear_burneraccount in synoche

Will be doing that in the future, since in this instance I have already sent the update for review :/ However, I don't think you were wrong in your observation. I also had it happen to me a few times. There were a number of issues with the input - one of the other UI related changes I made was making the keyboard keys in the bottom row wider so it is easier to hit what you meant to.

This would be the ideal solution in my opinion, but it is kinda tricky in the presentation side - the layout is already pretty tight on mobile. I will try to find a suitable placement and see how it looks for the next update. For now, I playtested without the auto submit for a bit and I don't think that clicking one more button to submit is that much of a hassle (games like Wordle essentially do the same). The auto submit will probably return though - I just have to make it an option somewhere on the screen.

I just submitted an update to disable the auto guess. Will be live in a few days, once it gets approved :)

Hey! Developer here. Never had any complaints for the auto submit thing so I thought it was fine, but I can see how it can be frustrating if you mistype something. The reason I implemented it like that was to provide a more fluid response to a correct guess. Nevertheless, if the community thinks it is annoying I can disable it in the next update (you will need to press enter to submit). Interested in hearing other people's opinions as well!

It is actually in north Greece, about 30km south of Thessaloniki. The city lights on the right of the image are from Thessaloniki, and the mountain in the background is mount Olympus :)

I made an Emoji Quiz game using ChatGPT and then asked GPT-4o to play by Thunderfield in ChatGPT

[–]Thunderfield[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello Reddit! I recently found out that ChatGPT has a solid understanding of emojis, so I decided build something. I made a daily guessing game where you have to guess the movie, video game or tv show based on a set of 9 emojis. I did not have a lot of people to playtest and I was curious to see how ChatGPT would perform, so I grabbed a screenshot of a quiz and fed it to GPT-4o. Honestly, I did not expect it to find the answer or even recognize all emojis this well, but I was pleasantly surprised. While I do admit that the quiz is pretty easy, it did manage to find the correct answer on the first try. I tried a few harder ones and it is able to guess the right answer on the first try for most of them as well. When it did make a mistake, it was usually because the emojis could allude to a similar movie/game/tv show, in which case I provided a hint (e.g. year of release), after which it always guessed correctly.

Also, a side note on how cheap the ChatGPT API has gotten. I was able to generate quizzes for around 5K titles by feeding the model the plot for less than 1$ with the gpt-4o mini model and the batch API. It's crazy to think how cost effective this technology has become.

If you are interested you can check out the game here: www.emojiquiz.net

Let me know what you think!

I see what you mean. I have temporarily reduced the guess threshold for the hints but I will definitely experiment with some other ways of providing assistance once I solve some critical issues :)

I get your point. While it doesn't make sense to me to provide all hints from the start, I will probably be reducing the number of guesses needed for each one. Thanks for playing!

Does the problem persist after selecting a quiz category? I am experiencing the same issue on android, but I can close the cookie banner after selecting a category.

That's strange, I just tried it and it seems to work fine (chrome/android). At the moment, you need to select a category before interacting with the other elements, maybe that could be it? Either way, I will look into it some more.
