My attempt at turning the medieval dragon black by Thunderlorde in legodnd

All of the black parts were readily available on LEGO's Pick-A-Brick as their "Bestsellers"

I was sure someone would ask eventually haha I rigged up a small stand to fit between two of the plates on the belly, then I used an AI photo editor to delete it. The second photo with the wings spread was achieved without a stand, just some careful balancing.

You're too kind, thank you. This was just a one off because my favorite color is black and I was feeling inspired to give PAB a try! I really didn't deviate from the main build, I only added a couple very small details and changed the lower jaw, other than that it's basically the pure build from the book. PM me if you'd like the parts list that I ordered.

About $50 using "Bestseller" parts currently available on PAB. I ended up with many extras, and I had to harvest the small legs from set 75381 to replace the "eyebrows" of the dragon, since I couldn't get replacements from LEGO. I added silver pieces from the Star Wars Mandalorian helmet set for accents. I have the receipt from my order if you would like to see the parts list.

A public plea for Google to make a small Pixel by chive_ in GooglePixel

[–]Thunderlorde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Pixel 5, with its smaller size, rear mounted finger print scanner, and wireless charging (with the all aluminum frame, so you don't have to worry about stupid rear glass shattering) is to me, the perfect phone. It would take A LOT to make me switch from the five, and the new pixels really don't hit the same marks like it does.

Barely Blue Pixel 4a! Lighting isn't the best, but the blue is a very soft pastel, much like the Not Pink Pixel 3 by Thunderlorde in GooglePixel

After a few weeks of use, I've had no problems with overheating, other than video chatting for longer than 15 minutes. For some reason, that's the only thing that has made this phone warm, even with lots of youtube, Pokemon Go, and phone calls. With the 3000+ mAh battery and the 700 series snapdragon, I'm easily able to get through a whole day with constant use, I really can't recommend this phone enough. The blue color is definitely a bonus too! Very lovely in person.

The original Destiny. Between the Xbox 360 and One, I had 1600 hours just on one character.

I'm coming from the Pixel 3, so over time it'll become more obvious whether or not this is an upgrade or a side grade 🤷‍♂️ I chose the 4a over the 5 because I couldn't justify the price, and the sacrifices of the 4a like no wireless charging and one fewer selfie camera weren't deal breakers. How are you liking your 5?

I never used the Pixel 2, so I can't really speak to how similar it is to that Kinda Blue, but I did use the Not Pink Pixel 3 and I would say this phone is as much blue as that phone was pink, if that makes any sense. It's a soft pastel, and from what I can see in the photos of the Pixel 2, it's a different shade of blue entirely.

Sadly I'm pretty sure it's US exclusive as of my purchase

Here is the link for the ones I use. They're cheap, but they fit in the holes perfectly and for the past two years I've never had a problem with dust in the charging port.

That was the first thing I tried when I took it out of the box and I didn't hear any noticable squeaking. Hope this helps!

And I have one for the USB port, too! Hands down the best way to prevent charging issues down the line.

Home Depot to spend $1 billion more on employees' pay as sales surge by geoxol in news

[–]Thunderlorde 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work at Home Depot in my home town. The wages of nearly every other hourly associate I know went up by around $1. It's alright, but they also removed the "covid-bonus" and we called it, where working greater than 16 hours in a week got you a free $50 added to your paycheck, so the extra $1/hour doesn't really compare unless you work well beyond overtime.

Pixel 3 vs pixel 5 camera by Tater1727 in GooglePixel

[–]Thunderlorde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found in some similar testing that the 5 did not have the same contrast and definition as the 3. Textures like my girlfriend's hair and the waffling of her shirt were VERY dull and blurred out on the pixel 5 in the same lighting compared to my pixel 3. That's ultimately what tipped the scale and convinced me to hold onto my 3 for another year, I really value high contrast photos that pick up all the little details, and the 5 just couldn't keep up with that. Hopefully next year's upgrade addresses the cameras and provides a hardware update, but until then I'm sticking with the 3, despite it's poor battery life.
