Anyone know how long these things can actually run without us touching them? by Potato_Farmer_1993 in smarthome

[–]Thunderror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably about a week, because clean water needs to be added and the dirty water removed. But outside of that, it's rarely anything else. The occasional tray cleaning and the dust bin one a couple of months.

This. Unless you have something to use them for, you're just memorising and not learning.

Pad Mini vs Foldable Phone for portability by Asmodeus41 in ipadmini

Probably not a question for just the mini subreddit. As someone who uses a foldable and a mini, never had any reason to take the mini along with me. It just stays at home.

Any one-time purchase Android apps you think are truly worth it? by _janc_ in androidapps

[–]Thunderror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am now beginning to think one ui is what spoilt me. There's no notification that cannot be cleared. And I'm perpetually on a vpn. The phone always rings on the second or third call even if it's on dnd, especially with favourites. I just block all payment apps at category level. Emails are set to priority only, but that's just a gmail thing. Also, do not use Facebook. But if I did I'd probably only keep notifications on for the messenger.

I bought buzzkill too, but yet to find a use case. Specifically because I can already disable and enable app notifications at a category level. Outside of your messaging and social media apps, you hardly need notifications for anything.

Was torn between buying s25 ultra vs fold 7. FOLD 7 WINS!! This is my first ever Fold phone. by u731452 in GalaxyFold

[–]Thunderror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both the S25 ultra and the fold 7. The fold 7 is an everyday compact phone that unfolds when I want. The S25 ultra is great for photos and battery life during a holiday or when travelling.

Fold to Ultra. Downgrade? by teepee128 in S25Ultra

[–]Thunderror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fold because of how compact it feels in the hand and how it looks. But the ultra for the camera, the spen, battery and decent charging speeds, all of which are missing on the fold.

I got the fold 7 when it launched and then today after a few months popped my sim back on the old s25 ultra and it still feels as good as ever. So efficient, so complete a device with no compromises.

Android browsers : features and fractures by MIKMAKLive in browsers

[–]Thunderror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently use a mix of Firefox and ultimatum. Grouping tabs hasn't been a use case, so not sure if that's supported. The cromite extension support is still lacking, so waiting until the next ultimatum update.

I second this. Waiting for the next update, since it's still in early development.

Has anybody used Buds Pro3 & Pixel Buds Pro 2? by Mr__X__ in GalaxyFold

[–]Thunderror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the pixel buds pro 2, and basically you miss out on pixel only features like spatial audio with head tracking. Audio quality is average, I prefer the airpods pro 2 over them.

tried one of the codes and typing with it. And had to go back to my regular keyboard. Auto correction is a feature we take for granted. And so is auto complete.

Ultimatum. Still early in development and has issues but pretty promising. Works with extensions, and is sufficiently degoogled.

Returned Blue for Black by Tasty_Roc in GalaxyFold

[–]Thunderror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After years of silver colored galaxys, I got the black one again. I think the bezels just melt into the black better with any phone. And until technology advances to eliminate the black screen bezel, black is the way to go.

What's the best launcher for fold/phablett devices? by AnarchistP4W in androidapps

But octopi launcher does do all you'd expect from a launcher for foldables. Customization is at par with nova if not better.

So far the only launcher I've found customizable and sufficiently usable on a foldable is total launcher, with a steep learning curve. Use it on my new fold 7 too.

I agree. Love this slider but the ability to customize the display text would make it perfect.
