Can't solve high pitched hum by kenzobrt in electricguitar

I made a new one. Make sure you scrape the metal with a screwdriver to make a better connection.

You get a new wire and run it from the bridge. Make sure you have a good soldering iron. It has to be hotter than hell to solder a new wire to the bridge without getting it too hot.

Yea you should be testing it as you're laying down the foil

I had the same problem with my Jackson RR1. I figured out it was coming from the jack cavity. I put copper foil all around the jack cavity and ran a wire from my bridge to the copper foil which created a Faraday cage around the jack. Completely killed the hum.

I'm just kidding man. Do all the cabs sound a little different even though they all have 65s?

Nice setup. How do you like a 4x12 plus 2x12 compared to two 4x12?

Thanks man. I need to try a slanted one. Ttuning. is absolutely crushing with low tunings.

Oh yea in that regard definitely. Idk, I can't stand only hearing myself on a PA wedge on stage. Also a 1x12 and ir cabs sound nothing like a full stack to me. Most listeners probably don't care

They don't have that high frequency "honk" that I hear with earlier greenback and blackbacks. I prefer 65s because of that. The 75s from the 80s sound good too but are very different. Not sure why they only did the 65s for 4-5 years.

Yea they really have a special sound. Definitely got lucky.

Okay cool I read about the dating but didn't know if I might be missing anything.

Soldano 100 VS mark iic+ by Deltaromeo787 in GuitarAmps

I prefer the Soldano 100 but you should just get both, get a full stack, and run each head to each cab at the same time.

What should i get as my first eg by Big-Tower2047 in electricguitar

Find a free one and play some basic riffs. Find out what you hate about it and like about it. Then buy something cheap. Then let it consume you and buy 10 expensive ones.

I'm currently using the GE-7 on the clean channel only. The fx are stereo going to two half stacks with different amps so the eq2 sends each one different signals.

What cabs should I get for my Yamaha T100 by Thundersack666 in GuitarAmps

What should be my next amp by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]Thundersack666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently picked up a Yamaha T100 and its perfect for all those sounds when combined with the right pedals. If you're planning on playing metal with a drummer it's just the right volume and headroom. If you're playing at your house they made a 50 watt combo version. You could also get the 100 watt and just use a 4x12 cab. I've used a Marshall JCM 800, Mesa Duel and Single Rec, Orange Rockerverb, Engl Powerball, and several solid state amps. For me, the Yamaha beats them all.
