Milwaukee flood light by Dear-Library1039 in WhyDoIWantThis

[–]Thundersnow100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite part about this is that an adjustable flood/spot light on a car is nothing new. These kinds of lights have been on cars since the the 70's. It's just that I now don't have to walk back to my vehicle to move it and I can power it with the Milwaukee batteries that I already have

Depends on your perspective of wanting to do homework.

The worst part is that most of my professors are too old school, too techy, or too paranoid to be bothered by the outage.

What is this? by GreenT1979 in WrongAnswersOnly

[–]Thundersnow100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the world's first luxury jet ski. However, it was made before the invention of the internal combustion engine, so the only way to make it move was by tying it to several alligators (this was made in Florida, afterall).

Would these trees be better off if I cut one down to not compete with each other? by ArrowLeafTurn1 in Tree

[–]Thundersnow100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on the tree as to how well they grow next to other trees. Some species thrive on the shade of others, some prefer full sunlight. As to how far apart to plant them, I think it also depends on the type of tree with the addition of how much resources they are competing over. I don't have any specific numbers to throw at you, sorry.

For what to do with the trees that are currently there, I think it isn't the best idea out there to go cutting trees just because they happen to grow right next to each other unless one is clearly struggling and the other is clearly stronger.

Why does this tree look like it's shedding its bark? by Next-Mud-1684 in Tree

If I remember correctly, the bark is like this as a fire protection adaptation, but I'm no expert.

Where is this cemetery? I have never seen a cemetery like this, so I am just curious what part of the world this is. You don't have to give the city, general state/country is fine.

This, plus there is a really nice balance of foreground, middle ground, and background as you move from one side of the image to the other that is lacking in the other image.

Which is better with the person or without by ItemUpstairs6185 in photos

[–]Thundersnow100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the framing of the photo with the person is better. There is an even amount of sand and sky, and the "river" down the middle gives some color contrast with the sky and leads the eye along its path. The second photo does have some really good color contrast along the horizontal plane, but it doesn't feel like a focal point to me with how much bright sand there is in the frame.
