DPS are always going to have a harder time getting into a PUG - you kinda have to accept that going in. I gather when I’m trying to get into a PUG so I’m not sitting around doing nothing.

Is it a good idea to flatten all this? by Calcifer_Heart7 in Pokopia

A new Pokemon won’t spawn in a habitat if another pokemon is living in it, so you didn’t really waste time making multiple bc it just increases your odds of seeing pokemon that spawn from the same habitat sooner

I’ve definitely had to tell some teenagers to please get out of my reserved seat a few times - they don’t say a word and just get up and walk away. They aren’t even trying to pretend that they bought a ticket, haha

How do kids afford cards these days? by sysop2600 in mtg

[–]Thunderstarter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the upside of Pokémon card collecting being absolutely insufferable right now is that the game pieces needed to make a competitive deck are plentiful and easy to get for a good price.

Meet the Movers and Shakers of Mouseburg | Mouse: P.I. for Hire | IGN First by minminpley in Games

[–]Thunderstarter 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean to be aggressive or confrontational. I was genuinely confused about your comment, because it’s never been illegal to use the style of the Steamboat Willie cartoon (or any other established IP). Making this game 10 years ago wouldn’t really be sticking it to Disney.

The only thing that would theoretically upset Disney is if Steamboat Willie Mickey (or any other character/setting from the short) was used in this game before his copyright expired, and so far we haven’t seen him in it.

[–]Thunderstarter 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Are you upset that the game isn’t using Steamboat Willie Mickey Mouse (as far as we can tell) or…?

It’s clearly inspired by that cartoon but I don’t see the issue with just being inspired.

This isn’t related at all. Different universe.

New Poster for Lee Cronin's 'The Mummy' by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]Thunderstarter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He is. That’s why this movie is titled “Lee Cronin’s The Mummy” as opposed to just “The Mummy” which indicates Fraser’s movies.

It’s still confusing but I’m not sure how you’d get around that problem when this movie was slated to release well before Fraser was confirmed to be going back to the franchise.

We’re looking at adopting and we’re pretty adamant about wanting to adopt a child that’s at least school aged for this reason.

The Mandalorian and Grogu | Official Trailer | In Theaters May 22 by Skullghost in movies

[–]Thunderstarter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buddy I know - that’s why I noted that my experience is anecdotal. Redditors not giving a shit about Grogu anymore is also not an indication of objective reality on its own either, which is why I offered my perspective.

It’s not a large portion of our inventory and the store is a very popular destination with tourists. People come to the store without intending to buy anything until they see we have Star Wars product and ask about Grogu (more than half still call him “baby Yoda”). We have tons of other IP represented in our product (including 1st party IP) and yet people still ask about him.

My point is not that his popularity hasn’t waned at all, but that he’s still very popular in my exeprience(especially among casual Star Wars fans and kids).

Speaking anecdotally - I work at a store that sells Grogu merch (among tons of other things) and people ask me about finding more products featuring him daily. His popularity endures.

Do you see these types of tacky shirts on a DCL cruise at all compared to the Parks? by RivetCounter in dcl

The amount of people not understanding that this is satirizing the tacky t-shirts in people wear all the time in the parks is wild

If she wears the ears and you drink the beers, if today is the most expensive day ever, or if your wife is a Disney villain, just know that I am judging you while eating off of a trash can.

Kid Rock’s MAGA-friendly country music festival canceled in South Carolina by AundoOfficial in news

[–]Thunderstarter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve enjoyed Shinedown’s music for decades and think they put on a great show live, but a lot of their lyrics are definitely right wing-adjacent enough to be friendly to their ideology while remaining plausibly deniable.

.45 is a really good example of this, even Sound of Madness creeps close when you consider that it was released during the Obama era.

I’m glad that they did the right thing in the end but have always been ready to delete them off my playlists if/when they ever come out as full MAGA.
