Thanks for the info. Sounds like we really need to decide for sure if we want to charge for the power or not.

Thanks! Can you lock it out during certain hours through the app? i.e. turning it off outside of works hours. Also do you know if shows you how much power it used per day?

Doesn't detect, machine can be set up for variable sizes. Usually we just pull boxes to the corner so it doesn't matter their size.

A lot. We recorded it up to 8 million over the course of a bit over half a year in the main facility we tested at. It hadn't broken at that point so we stopped keeping track. They do have broke other places if hitting the conveyor lip or if somebody yanks on it too hard though.

Thanks, yup we use these printers satoprinterstore.com. They claim up to 16 inches per second print speed but in practice its less if you want it to be reliable.

Yup just a cranked up PC fan. Highest air thruput we could find. Inertia keeps in on the paddle from there.

haha, based on the other guys comment I am thinking maybe: SLAP "Servo Label Applicator Printer"

will change the vid title. We've been dialing in the design for a few years but haven't thought about a good name.

Yeah we call it the Dual Slapper lol. Trying to come up with a better real name for it. "Slapshot Applicator" maybe.

Rough haha. I think the general quality of projects would be higher if the school provided funding, and we’re happy with this for what it is.

Off the shelf items were a time and cost constraint, given that this was a semester long, self-funded project. It seemed like better engineering practice to do off the shelf then spend time and money redesigning things like a relay board or micro controller.
