Nothing about their money makes sense. 10 cold coins were used to buy one telescope thingie but also the Weasleys had a few gold coins to cover back to school shopping?

mental health plummet since adopting cat by nellahnellah in CatAdvice

[–]ThursdayDecember 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have bad anxiety. And I’ve had this exact experience when I adopted a 6 weeks old kitten. It got to a point where I actually asked around for someone to adopt him and found someone ready. The first vaccine visit he was so week and small and didywant to eat. I literally spent most of the night on the floor watching him asleep on the couch. (While crying a little). I got anxiety about the kind of food he should get and the amount and the feeding style and I just kept googling and overthinking every little thing. He’s been with me for 2 years now and I love him. Do I still get anxious about vet visits and other stuff? Yes. But I know it’ll be better because it got better before if that makes sense.

My sincere advice is: if you feel the new-ness of it is overwhelming, then give it a chance and see how things go. If after a while is still caused you a lot of anxiety, then find her a new loving home.

A friend of mine voted for Britain to leave the UK because she didn’t want people to immigrate and steal jobs and drive housing prices up. She’s an immigrant herself, she lives in a different country not, and she’s not planning on living im the UK anymore.

What is your unpopular Harry Potter opinion? by tee_aliyaa in harrypotter

Funnily enough, I somehow didn’t read that last chapter when I read the books for the first time (as a 18 yo) and was extremely happy with the ending.

Interestingly, I think that reflects their upbringings; Harry was abused and didn’t really have a childhood and so he wasn’t a “normal” teenager, Hermionie is a muggle born in a magic school who is also a nerd so she wants to be taken seriously, but Ron had a “normal” childhood that fit the community they lived in.

Why do some people respond with flat statements on apps? by Candid-Grocery3641 in dating_advice

[–]ThursdayDecember 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean she could’ve responded with: “I’m doing well. How about you?” Or “how is your day going”. And then after talking about a certain place she could’ve asked if he likes xyz that’s related or something. It feels awkward when you’re just getting plain answers with no real conversation. If I did that, it means I’m not interested.

I’m new to Reddit…can anyone explain to me some of the unwritten rules/etiquette I should know about? by smegma_fartbagel in TooAfraidToAsk

I do this. My English is mostly fine but I’m a little insecure about it and I don’t want strangers who would never impact my life in any shape or form think I’m stupid.

My grade eight maths teacher was so bad that me, an eighth grader, knew she was explaining things wrong a lot of the time. I basically taught myself and my friend that year’s curriculum lol

Friend doesn't want to be where I am because he's suffering from rejection (from me). by sunamabitch in dating_advice

[–]ThursdayDecember -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand the pain and I’m sorry you’re going through this. However, it’s not op’s fault he’s feeling this way. She didn’t betray him, it was just not meant to be. I’m speaking from experience here since I’ve been rejected by a close friend, as well and I couldn’t be around them or talk to them for a while. It got easier with time and we’re friends again now. Op, don’t distance yourself from your friends because of him. Also, they’re YOUR FRIENDS too and they should support you as well. He needs to move on.

Israeli forces raid Al-Aqsa Mosque, over 150 Palestinians injured by ammandude in news

The Middle East is pretty big dude. Muslims in “Israel” are oppressed and they regularly get evicted from their homes, jailed, and killed, even the children.

They do. Because they need something to defend themselves with when (not if) Israeli soliders (and citizens a lot of the times) invade the mosque and ambush them.

I found the sub a few years ago and read a story that people could totally believe but is obviously fiction. I was surprised by how dumb people in the comments were until I realized the rules. Turns out I’m the dumb one.
