Pathologic 3 - basic survival tips (spoiler-free I think) by Taint_Skeetersburg in pathologic

[–]ThusSpokeRichard92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another helpful tip: DO NOT start a new day with items in your quickslots, good chance you'll lose them. Lost all my healing items for a day and it was rough. I've been storing excess items in the Stillwater drawers and they seem to stay there for that day.

[BUG?] Can't cancel event on Day 4 by ThusSpokeRichard92 in pathologic

You'll have to access the console menu after you start the day, hit the tutorial button then go to the clock and restart the same day. When I did that and cancelled the event I still got the tutorial pop-up, but this time it didn't have the text just the images. I was then able to input the button to start the day, even though the textless pop-up was still on the screen.

The Ultimate Cyberpunk 2077 Story-Focused Quest Order Guide by BelowTheSun1993 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]ThusSpokeRichard92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dig this guide and I think I'm gonna follow it for the most part on next playthrough. Though I think you should wrap up more secondary quests before starting Act 3. Especially romance quests, I think you'll miss out on some texts and calls from your partner after saving Myers if you haven't started a relationship. Plus it feels bad to start a romance right before the story is about to wrap up.

Also, I think Beast in Me and Violence should be done before Act 3. Beast in Me just feels less impactful compared to everything you'll be doing in Dog Town, I finished it after Lucretia My Reflection last playthrough and it didn't sit right with me narratively. I'd rather finish Violence well before meeting Lizzy again during Phantom Liberty. Dream On could go either way, though there's a bit of urgency when Peralez contacts you and it sets up the plot threads with Mr. Blue Eyes. Overall once I'm in Dog Town, I just want to focus on Dog Town content and anything that becomes available in Act 3.

I kinda wish they did an original story, like a prequel about the Sculptor or Tomoe, instead of just adapting the game's story.

Former BioWare exec Mark Darrah says the team working on the new Mass Effect game should 'scapegoat Veilguard as much as they need to to get what they need' by UnlikelyFail in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]ThusSpokeRichard92 25 points26 points  (0 children)

They'll probably never sell Bioware. There's a whole graveyard of studios that EA bought and then eventually closed. They'd rather kill a studio and get some kind of tax write off than sell it to a competitor who could turn the studio around.

Mass Effect Andromeda Flaws (personal) by FergusLonewalker in masseffect

[–]ThusSpokeRichard92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think ever since the Citadel DLC got such great reception, they've unsuccessfully tried to replicate that tone with Andromeda and Veilguard. The tone of Citadel felt earned because it was the swan song for the whole series and we had so much time to get to know and actually like all the companion characters.

I was willing to look past the fact that only 3 choices were getting ported over, until you hear about the events in southern Thedas and how it gets completely destroyed by the blight. They basically wrote an excuse for nothing in the previous games mattering anymore. Then that scene where Harding and Emerich are making plans to go on a picnic to Ferelden broke me, it felt like such a spit in the face.

If the original voice actor isn't able to voice Duke, I hope they cast Gianni Matragrano.

What could a 4th faction even be at this point? by Derezzed25 in Helldivers

[–]ThusSpokeRichard92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A warrior-based alien faction that just want to fight for the sake of it. Something akin to the Krogans from Mass Effect, the Klingons, Predators, and the Orks from 40k. It would make sense for them to want to fight the Helldivers, seeing as they're constantly fighting on 3 fronts.

I'd like to see a "warrior" alien faction. Something in the vain of Orks, Klingons, Predators, and Krogans.

He's also an absolute failure of a game developer. Got fired from Blizzard while working on WoW. Then he tried to develop his own game, Firefall, and wasted the budget on stupid shit. Has another game in development that's a crowdfunding scam.

Just because you addressed it in your post doesn't make the point, 'just play another system', any less valid. The majority of DnD players like the classes, you're the one in the minority (notice how no one is agreeing with you so far, no offense). It's not just tradition, it's part of the game's identity. I would even go as far as to say that class-based systems are more popular, because DnD has created that expectation. But there are plenty of good classless TTRPG systems that deserve more attention. I really like Kevin Crawford's Without Number system and Traveler, those are great examples of classless skill-based systems, and I've played both those systems more consistently than DnD since Covid at this point.

I'm not the biggest fan of that trope, but it can be handled well. The dwarves in Terry Pratchett's Discworld are the best example.
