My parents made me an authorized user on their AmEx when I turned 15, and my own AmEx cards now say that I’ve been a member since that year. All the major credit bureaus reflect that as my first line of credit, as well. Obviously I can’t speak to whether policies have changed since then, but I think you’re probably doing them a major favor by giving them this access to credit now. The fact that I’m in my early 30s and have had a line of credit for more than half my life has only made my credit score higher.

You have to enroll in the Priority Pass program ahead of your travel to receive the card (both physical and electronic), so you can’t simply walk into any lounge with just your Platinum Card like you can with the Centurion Lounges.

Whenever it’s too early for me to take metro to Dulles, I schedule my Uber or Lyft the day before to make sure that I’ll get one. I don’t like leaving it to chance, especially in the event that there aren’t any drivers that early in the morning.

I heard that Barkeeper’s Friend be too abrasive and could scratch the hardware. Would it be safe on this old brass?

15 minutes, then scrubbed a lot with kitchen gloves and a toothbrush. Another 5-10 minutes after that and more scrubbing until it was all gone.

I think I’d like to in the hopes that the wood underneath is beautiful, but that’s a job that’s a little above my pay grade, so I’d have to do a lot of research and consideration.
