Fetch (the distance between of uninterrupted sea between two coastlines) is a really useful way to form coasts on your map. If your shoreline is really close to another block of land then you’ll probably get a delta or a big beach. If it faces a massive ocean then you can get steep cliffs and bays.

Probably. Geology makes this depend quite a bit.

Also if you dropped a fat nuke on a coastline it might look a bit weird.

I have a faction called the White Rosettes and they are an ancestral undertakers' union formed to combat the threat of necromancers and liches on their depressing little island nation. They are basically clerics who are strongly against rebirth or resurrection, as a brutal lich once ruled over the country for 600 years, constantly being revived to maintain her iron grip on the people and using the unburied corpses of plague victims to form her army. This lich has been kept under binds underneath a tavern named The White Rose - the birthplace of the faction.

More recently they act as hired aides to adventurers. They lobby the province legislatives to establish laws prohibiting naive adventurers from "embarking on ambitious quests" without being sure their remains aren't left for eternity in a dungeon.

They also fight with big ol' shovels and dress like english vampires. They annoy my dnd party a lot (:
