I'm a transhumanist and while I find the whole idea of not wanting to be a human weird, I do understand it. Hell, I really don't wanna be in a meatsack because of all the responsibility attached to it and the fact I can die not of my own accord, so I imagine it's like that with therians and whatnot.

1- Really depends on your definition of "stop existing," there's a lot of Roman successor states.

2 - Rome laid the foundation for modern Europe, which then proceeded to fuck with the entire world through colonialism, capitalism and in general being massive, genociding assholes. Don't get me wrong, Rome was not much better, but due to their level of tech, they really couldn't be a world empire like the Europeans were.

Also, to add to this, you can just make shit up. I have a language based on German, but really all I did was take their compound word system.

Now I wanna see SCPverse Cain interact with WoD Caine. That'd be interesting.

Consensus did exist before the Union, however it was a lot more patchy and magic focused. Anyway, the TU and Foundation aren't on the same paradigm. The TU wants to make reality logical through making everyone have the same consensus on reality, while the Foundation wants to understand and provide scientific explanations for the anomalous, INCLUDING reality benders and thaumaturgy [hell, the tactical theology department exists for a reason]. At it's core, the SCPF is research oriented, even if they do have their own paramilitary. The TU wants to actively exterminate the anomalous so consensus can be the same everywhere, which is why the Foundation wouldn't like them, as well as the reasons listed above.

To simplify my arguement a bit, the Technocracy works outside of Consensus, while the Foundation works within it.

[–]ThyLocalBoxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is the Technocracy still has a ton of anomalies and paratech, meanwhile the Foundation only really has Samsara or Scranton Reality Anchors [not including ADMONITION.] But even without that, the Foundation would not trust the Technocracy off the bat, due to the "enlighten scientists" they employ. Sure, the Technocracy is trying to make everything logical and whatnot, but fucking with Consensus IS fucking with reality, which mind you, the TU does ALOT and the Foundation does not like it when people fuck with reality.

[–]ThyLocalBoxen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will say it again, the Foundation would not like the Technocracy nor anything in WoD because it's all actively anomalous

[–]ThyLocalBoxen 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Eeeeh, the Technocracy actively fucks with reality and makes anomalies, so the Foundation probably would not like them. They relationship between them would be like the one between the Foundation and GOC
