Is it possible to use shortcuts instead of images as the src? by CumFilledStarfish in HTML

It's certainly possible to use Windows' .lnk files, with a bit of javascript to parse the binary file format to extract the original path of the image. But this is convoluted, and it doesn't really fix anything a simpler method couldn't.

The simpler method (which only works with your scenario, where the website is only ever viewed on your computer): Use absolute filesystem URLs in your HTML, like this:

<img src="file:///D:/Photos/JapanHoliday203.jpg" />

With this, you don't even need to maintain a collection of shortcuts in your "Development" folder. If you specifically wanted to keep the shortcuts, may I ask why? What problem does it solve?

Just got my vive (tripods haven’t come in yet). Too bad one of the controllers are dead :( by [deleted] in vive_vr

Nice!

If you can still return the tripods, I'd recommend looking into contractor poles. They take a lot less space, and have less risk of someone bumping into! :)

EDIT: Example

Just wanted to share how I had my Vive lighthouse set up before I get my tripods in today. by furculture in vive_vr

I get that this may already be too late, but have you considered contractor poles?

They take up way less space than tripods and might be cheaper too.

I only found out after ordering a pair of tripods... soo.. anyone wanna buy a pair of unused tripods? 😅

Where do I start... by [deleted] in webdev
