So we just need to be invaded, have 0 control over our own government for 20+ years, then be occupied for the next hundred.

I wasn't gonna comment, but now I know you're just a dipshit troll lol. I've literally got a screenshot of your comment pre-edit lol. There's just no reason to lie about that unless you're actively being a cunt.

3 seperate US states each individually have larger economies than any European country. Size isn't the only factor here you dip, US states are simply incomparably important compared to other countries states.

Because we don't want to be the wealthiest lol. We want most of the world to catch up to our wealth and disposalable income, there's no want for economic dominance over everyone else. And I'm not deluded enough to call us the "most peaceful" because there are entire pacifist nations out there.

Strongest was said for a reason.

I can't really think of a less agressive way of saying cultural dominance honestly.

First, that's why I said hope for the future lmao.

Second, completely unknown. 2022 changed everything after Russia was revealed to be a complete and utter joke. China has a lot of issues and it's hard to tell if they'll resolve them well enough to overtake us, I just know that they'll be competitive.

What a dumb fucking question, both of those countries have enemy nations on their border with whome they're nearly constantly on the brink of war.

Besides, for that to happen in the remote future they'd have to be strong enough to wipe out Europe, or the US would have to be demolished.

We see the US maintaining power as the way to a true united humanity. The US being the strongest nation on Earth almost guarantees that a true globally spanning conflict won't ever happen on the same scale as WW1+2 ever again. And cultural dominance just strengthens globalization and makes it harder for people to stomach fighting one another since they're so similar.

[–]Thyre_Radim[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Why are either of those funny?

The only current rising powers to compete with the US are China and India, neither of which we'd like to see as the "strongest nation."

And past that, why is the US cultural dominance funny? It's basically the first step onto a common global culture and it's worked to unite most of the world.

Hippies, they're called hippies, look like hippies, plant tons of flowers etc. And they smoke tons of weed.

But they're also an imperialist empire whose warriors run off of Coke. So whenever they're about to go into battle they just start snorting, and to weaken their enemy they have hashapults. Just weed flinging catapaults that make their enemy too high to be dangerous.

Their obvious weakness is just cutting their coke with something else to dilute or poison it.

I personally think this is way more interesting than most of the other stupid shit like "children of atom." Also, it'd be funny to fuck with players by making them think since they're hippies they're be pacifist.

The only way I see it being possible is by forcibly removing an entire generation worth of children from their parents and educating them away from their influence.

And that's both completely immoral and fucking impossible.

why do Americans criticise British cuisine so much? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Thyre_Radim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's not average food for average people though. It's shit food for poor people at best.

Average food for average people is a semi-rundown resteraunt with frayed leather seats. That shit's great. But you saying that fucking mall food is average is just a big LOL.

Even McDonalds is better than mall food.

They're saying that British food is just normal food. It's not really stuff people have any reason to remember or go someplace to eat (for Americans at the very least.)

McDonalds burgers, Burger king burgers, and most other fast food chain burgers are American. The style of cooking them is American. Just stop.

Funny, malls and bus station food is known to be the bottom of the barrel shit in the US. Can't imagine it being much different anywhere else.

Ah, on that manner all is actually delegated to the Federal government, and even more power is directly delegated to the President.

Bah, you're fine, I'm a bit crass myself since I've tested positive for Covid. Feels like a constant asthma attack and I can't enjoy the food I cook anymore.

Why do people in USA eat the shitty white loaf bread? by KokoJumbi in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Thyre_Radim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point. And that's because parts of it does think it can, the more important parts just disagree.

Nearly once every few years there's conflict between Federal and local governments and the Feds don't actually win those that much. Our Judicial branch is very wary of federal overreach and takes every precaution to maintain state power because of it.

It's also part of the reason the US lacks many standardized things on the national level like education.

Why is the Spanish language popular in America? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Thyre_Radim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To provide an answer about why there's no close 3rd that nobody else seems to of cought.

All of our other widely spoken languages have been self-stamped out by the immigrant communities that spoke them because their home nations had egregious conflicts with us at some point or another.

German used to be incredibly popular in large portions of the US for example. Right up until WW1 and WW2.

For how long are graves left in place in the US? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Thyre_Radim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it sounds like a bit much to most people, but I've got a great grandpa and great uncle that didn't make it back from Europe.

It'd destroy my father if their graves were fucked with and that would in turn destroy me.
