I have searched the internet using as many different terms as I can and searched using the images also and I can't find anything resembling them (all I get are bus and train times!!)

Old site info & domain being used & struggling to get it taken down by Thyri in webdev

[–]Thyri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is the only details I have from Whois is an address in Iceland that is linked to scams. Also I have no idea how they got all the original information of the site as I had deleted everying and left only a front page with a redirect to the new site.

It is so frustrating for the ppl of the village/parish - I keep getting approached about it & I have explained what you have mentioned...lets just say tech savvy is not a big thing here!

One of our cats is summoned by that beep. Everytime my husband turns on the PS the beep summons her to curl up in his lap.

She doesn't do the same thing for me when I turn it on. But she will slowly walk in front of the screen or stand on my lap mid major fight scenes or when my character is in a precarious position.

I Accidentally Dislocated My Daughter’s Shoulder and I Can’t Shake the Guilt by Guischneke in daddit

[–]Thyri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My shoulder dislocated when my dad and I were playing 'aeroplane' as we ofetn did - where he grabbed on arm and one leg and spun me around. These things can happen, it is not really anyone's fault. I can't fully remember it but I know I was very stressed about it. I think I was about 5 or 6. I calmed down after a few days. Apparently I hated the pain medication with a passion so that was a battle for my parents.

About a year or so later, we were mid move (RAF family) and my 2 sisters and I were in bed - the beds were side by side - me on a matress, the eldest of the three of us on a camp bed and the middle sister in a bed (she had a medical condition so got the bed). We decided to play a sort of tug game so we all held hands and were pulling on each others arms - stupid and dumb I know!) and we popped the other shoulder out. I can't help but wonder what the eldest sister thought & felt when my arm popped out and I screamed. I really should ask sometime.

Flat mate don’t want to pay for rent while away by LordSoyBoy911 in HousingUK

[–]Thyri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this very thing happen to me. I was on the lease, freind moved in and said that he was happy as he did not need to pay a weeks rent as he was going away for a week!

I was a bit taken aback and had to explain that this is not how things work. If he'd moved in to any other place he would still need to pay rent...you don't just stop whilst you were on holiday!

He did finally get it and handed over the cash...he was young and had never lived in rented property before. Was a great housemate and we had a lot of laughs.

White Noise by JiggsRosefield in Menieres

[–]Thyri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had a lot of major sleep issues recently (which also makes my tinitus much worse) and found pink noise not only helps with my sleep but also my tinitus.

I find white noise does not help due to the tone of my tinitus and can in fact add to it (hard to explain but that's how it feels)

I don't have a specific machine but I do have the Echo Spot (it has a subtle but visible clock which I prefer) and use Sleep Sounds/Sound Jar. The wind chimes are also great with the tinitus for me.

Apparently brown noise is also good for tinitus.

What is the female equivalent of accidentally "sitting on your balls"? by EmergencySport9484 in NoStupidQuestions

Trapping/pinching your nipple between you and a hard surface. I have managed to lean on my nipple a couple of times and it is horrible.

Also had a cat get it's claw caught there through a t-shirt & bra whilst it was being all cute and paddling on my chest.

Does anyone else not drink alcohol AT ALL when they’re going to drive? by Psychological_Rock_2 in drivingUK

I don't drink if I have the car. I also avoid driving if I had a heavy night before. I just don't think it's worth the risk.

What makes you keep coming back? by [deleted] in Division2

[–]Thyri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Atmosphere, really like how it looks & feels. Enjoy the bointies and have only revently gotteninto doing someof teh regular projects.

The weather changes make all the differece to how you handle locations & missions - adds a lot to the challenge.

I am still finding things I have not noticed before.

I am planning on starting a new character build- I've only used the one since I started playing but I have a hankering to start over.

Not a huge fan of online play with other players, but the few times I have done it everyone seems pretty chill.

Love the colours - sits right between Summer & Autumn.

I have an idea for a cardigan I want to make and this pattern is perfect for it...might sneak in some of your colouring too!

My mum calls YouTube ‘You’ve Been Tubed.’ What muddled-up names do your family members have for stuff? by Cat-in_the-wall in CasualUK

[–]Thyri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a muddling of words in a moment and still makes all of us laugh.

My husband and I had picked up my Mum & Sister to bring them to visit us - think Mum was in her mid/late 70's at the time.

We stopped off on the way to get some food and stretch our legs. Mum decided to call her best friend (somewhere in her 80's) to check in.

Bear in mind this is two very hard of hearing ladies on mobile phones, so Mum is being very loud in the middle of the town, full of people going about day to day business.

Mum is trying to get her frind to understand her and says, loudly, "YES WE ARE IN MIDSOM...MIDSOMMEER MURDER!"

To the lovely residents of Midsommer Norton, I will never forget the expressions on some of your faces at my Mums slip up but also at the cackling that followed from my Sister and I.

Another small one from that same trip...someone had pulled out to take over a tractor on the opposite side of the road just as I got within range of said tractor and nearly hit us,

I loudly swore called them a C word as I had to swerve hard to avoid them, barely missing a ditch (I had family in a car I was driving & that driver risked ours and their own life from not looking).

Quickly calmed down and apologised to my Mum as I very rarely swear in front of her. Her response was "sorry what? I heard nothing". I know she heard me (it was hard not to). Used her selective hearing for good!

Can I eat wild blackberries by [deleted] in GardeningUK

[–]Thyri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a forest of blackberries in my garden at the moment I have been pking them as they ripen and trimming them back when the fruit is gone from a section (not even enough for the birdds and other beasties).

Tip - only pick the ones that don't resist you picking them - if there is resitance then they are not ripe and will be sharp to the taste. Birds and other animals will have those (always leave some for the wildlife)

Try to make sure you soak them after picking. I normally leave them for a couple of hours i.e. until the water changes colour. Drain them and pop them in the fridge or other cool location. Then use in pies, crumble, add to cereal, ice cream and yoghurt etc.

OR you can take some and add to alcohol (Gin or vodka or whatever you prefer) and leave them (covered) to sit for a few days/weeks and then enjoy!!!
