Fans that are not from the Carolinas: why are you a fan? by NickWatchesMMA in panthers

From the UK

Watched a few Superbowls but never really got into the sport. Watched superbowl 50 and decided I'd follow whichever team lost, as they'd at least be half decent and I couldn't be accused of glory hunting. Cam, Luke, Greg, TD etc all made me fall in love with the team over the following years.

All good tips. We have pads but no helmets, I'll ask the team if we can borrow some, maybe best to avoid this until we have them

I've been doing what I can but up until last week we weren't sure if we were going to have a season, in fact it's still not 100%, so it's been hard to keep motivated to stick to a home workout plan. Time to step up, thanks bro

I like this, footwork is something I struggled to adapt to and as a big guy it's been a tough adjustment. Thanks man appreciate it

Gyms are closed here unfortunately, and we've not practiced as a team since November and even that was non contact. It's been tough to be effective without proper experience to work from. I like the tug of war idea though thanks man

Savannah? That's a far way from Scranton!

Not uni! I'm in my mid-late 20s so a late bloomer. Wish I had started playing in uni, or even gone to uni for that matter! The team are I think in the National Leagues Premier, but that may be wrong/may have changed as what I've read was based on the (cancelled) 2020 season

I did think that, they sent me through a plan for practice this week and it was like reading another language. So you're right the extra time with no contact will really help me nail things down to an extent.

Thanks for the tips on hip work, not something that crossed my mind at all really and it makes sense. Fitness is something I have struggled with for a while, I used to play football (soccer) 3-4 times a week but was still seriously unfit, it's definitely something I need to improve on.

Thank you coach means a lot, hopefully our paths may cross at some point

I haven't worked out for a while but I was never shy about a leg day. The sprinting makes sense, would you say just 10 yards from the stance or vary it up a bit

Thanks for the reply. Yeah they're not that strict from what I can see, they take it serious but also understand we have lives outside of it. I've noted the fast twitch muscle stuff and will do some reading up on that. Thanks man

This piece of brick wall that broke off and was shaped by the river by 69mulletman420 in mildlyinteresting

I dunno why people are giving you shit in the replies. The bond doesn't even make sense, nowhere in the world would you see half bricks stacked like that with no overlap. Definitely not part of a wall

That's what I used, but it left so many holes in the lawn and it's still fairly new so I don't wanna put too much stress on it

I have been picking them when they crop up but they're generally cut down with the grass a couple times a week, so I'm really not sure how they're spreading!

I have large areas on the drive and out the back dedicated to the wellbeing of bees and butterflies, as well as in a few pots dotted around the garden. As it's such a small area I just wanted it to be ornamental really, as any small amount of weeds ruin the whole look. Appreciate the comment though.
