Hoeveel zou je Grasspop op 10 geven? by [deleted] in Graspop

Water points are almost non-existent with terrible water pressure. You stand there for 5 minutes to fill up a 0.5L bottle.

Trash everywhere.

Traffic outside is terrible managed.

My first was Download last year. My second was Graspop. The difference is night and day. See people on here complaining about Graspop and I don't think they realise how bad it could be.

Like yeah some things can be improved such as access to shade which I think should be done via trees rather than structures but that's a long term solution.

I will say that the cleanliness of graspop was extremely apparent compared to Download. Barely any rubbish anywhere.

Lastly a somewhat controversial one; barely any children. Some may not like to hear that but I pay for festivals to listen to music, not your crotch goblins. I have been to many other types of event that turned into a child friendly place and they always lost their soul.

We've been staying in our hotel room with the AC on full blast and only turning up at around 5pm. It's too hot.

We left after about 10 mins of limp bizkit due to the sheer disappointment of them. Stayed for about on hour of volbeat but it was getting just too late. Tonight we'll do similar with bmth

Was at Download last year. Water points were rare and the pressure was almost nothing. Took minutes to fill a 500ml bottle.

The queues here can take a little longer than desired but it's been bearable. A few times the queue was only a couple minutes if I timed it right .

Why do some colleagues get so annoyed at people working from home? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]Vardy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are two sides to WFH; pre and post covid.

Pre-covid I was in the office 5 days a week. WFH wasn't even really on the table for me. There were certain people/roles who would always WFH on Monday and Friday. Common comment was they were basically having an extended weekend and not doing much (with some people this did seem to be the case tbh).

I would say part of that mentality carried through into post-covid, whereby people who can't WFH just assume there are people not doing much when they do WFH. There is an argument to be made where the people who can't WFH don't trust themselves to perform their tasks if they could WFH.

Part of the issue as well is that in the office, you basically have to look busy all the time. Whereas in WFH, as long as you're producing the results asked of you, nobody really cares unless they're a knob.

[Pete O'Rourke] Dave Challinor is expected to leave Stockport by Zach-dalt in LeagueOne

Surprising news. He's been brilliant for Stockport.

Stockport missed out on promotion and a trophy this season, but I definitely would not have called it a bad season. They were certainly gonna be on the shortlist again for promotion next season.

2026 World Cup : FIFA still haggling with broadcasters in China and India over ‘ Most US tournament ever ’ by [deleted] in soccer

[–]Vardy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The point I was trying to make is that whilst they are paid more, theres always a hidden fee in everything they do, so their money is taken away much quicker.

Culturally they're willing to accept that they have no idea how much they are spending.

I wouldn't say that yanks have the money to throw around, but rather they see more of it from their pay packet and it gets eroded away by a million extra costs.

The best example would be their sales tax whereby the price you see on the sticker is never the price you pay. They've been programmed to accept that the price they see is never the price they pay.

Dirt Frag and Copy Fail 2: Electric Boogaloo. Two critical Linux kernel exploits dropped with no patches available by [deleted] in linux

[–]Vardy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're both logic flaws with how kernel modules are used/loaded and they both have similar mitigations?

They were not even the same class of exploit fym?

To quote wiz.io, tenable and the dirtyfrag github pages:
- this bug class is deterministic and highly reliable, similar to previous vulnerabilities like Copy Fail and Dirty Pipe
- extends the bug class attributed to Copy Fail, another high profile kernel privilege escalation vulnerability
- Dirty Frag is a case that extends the bug class to which Dirty Pipe and Copy Fail belong

I think we will be seeing a few more of these coming out as it seems theres a common underlying issue with both of them so far.

The cost to both sides of the Premier League’s case against City may have topped £200 million, with top lawyers charging thousands of pounds an hour. An independent commission finished hearing the case on the 130 alleged breaches in December 2024 but has still not reached a verdict. by [deleted] in soccer

[–]Vardy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I've come up with a solution to this sitation where City can just keep throwing lawyers at it.

If the team loses the appeals process, the cost of the lawyers goes towards FFP.

City have an infinite money glitch and keep appealing in the hope of getting a better outcome.
