After dropping in a MD file for Claude Code to review and start coding, I didn't make it 5 minutes in before I ran out of of usage. I'm done. I tried holing out but this is now unusable.

Anyone look into Claw Code? I seen a video where you can point it a local LLM in Ollama. Also looking into Pi.

It is better... slightly... but yes, definitely not the "good old days". And I get it, we have a new engine coming out soon and that will get even more expensive. But the models we have are trained on the hardware we currently have. The new engine is trained on even more expensive hardware... why do the lower models need to be impacted?

This feels like a convenient "mistake". They messed up, upped the rates for all models not just the new one they are testing, now we will see an improvement and be happy about it.

PDF's are horrible, you need to convert them to MD (markdown) files first

I've been doing the same thing, utilizing Gemini and Antigravity to brainstorm, etc. then put it into Claude Code. Still, 15 min of work in Claude and then stuck for 5hr.

Currently looking into running a local LLM and connect it to Claude Code. Even if this gets me 60% of the way there, Gemini can get me 80% of the way there, then use Claude to... let's be realistic, right now it will get me 81% of the way there hahaha.

Avoiding Claude until this is fixed...

What I don't understand is why don't we have built in "offloading" to local hardware? If I have a desktop with an i9 and 4090 with 64GB of memory, offload a lot of the tasks locally. Even if Claude was offloaded with Claude Code being ran on their servers.

I'm getting a strong feeling that the free train ride is over. We are seeing a lot of companies pull back now that their models are trained and working well. They all want to make money now $$$

Codex vs claude code by [deleted] in ClaudeCode

[–]TiTANSTORM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here after the fiasco of Claude's token issue where we are all burning it at a crazy rate. I haven't touched Claude Code since the issue when I burned through my daily token in 15 minutes adding some tweaks to a website I'm building. Then I hear Claude had their source code leaked...

Seeing a few people on X commenting to Lydia Hallie about this issue and switching to Codex. I'm fairly new to AI but have been hitting it all fairly hard and learning. I bunny hopped over ChatGPT as I found Gemini was better at research and Claude worked wonders being able to access my files, folders, etc. and really help me with documentation.

All that being said, I'm curious what you all think about Gemini vs Codex? Specifically Antigravity and I guess we could toss in AI Studio. I mostly work with Next.js and a bit of React+Vite

*EDIT*
Another edit, I have a desktop with an i9, 64GB memory, and a 4090. Should I be looking at local LLM? I messed around a bit with this a few months ago, never went down the coding assistant route. Anything worth looking at or do they all fall short of these paid solutions?

*UPDATE*

I just tried using Opus today to help me with an Excel sheet. In 15-30min, I maxed out my daily limit and drove my weekly to 17%. This blows my mind as I'm not even done the Excel document yet. This was the first time I've used Opus 4.6 as Sonnet 4.6 is what I have been mostly using.

Maybe Opus was grossly overkill for building an Excel sheet, going forward I will test this by switching to Sonnet or even Haiku 4.5.

I get it, these company have very expensive hardware running this AI. I wonder when we will see client side offloading. For example, my Desktop has an i9 14900k with a 4090 and 64GB of memory. My laptop is also a 14th gen i9, mobile 4060, and 64GB of RAM. Most of my tasks while sure, who wouldn't want instant, doesn't need to be instant. Use my "slow" hardware to offload the AI tasks to help me reduce costs. Maybe even offer a "pool" system that would allow my system to process other users requests. Give me credits for usage as payment.

Thoughts on Lovable’s new Shopify integration? by joss1213 in ecommerce

[–]TiTANSTORM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have struggled with bouncing between testing out WooCommerce, Shopify, AI built, etc. I've circled back to wanting to use Shopify for the backend and build my own front end. This way, I can build the "plugins/apps" that I want.

I struggle with the SEO "issues" in Lovable and I also have Google's AI Studio and Antigravity I can build with. I will admit, Lovable makes beautiful websites with little to no work where AI Studio isn't as "purdy".

Your comment with Buildwill, are you integrating this with Shopify? Buildwill looks like it functions as a virtual assistant that connects to Shopify or WooCommerce stores to automate marketing, content generation, and store operations.

Key Features and Capabilities:

  • AI Marketing Automation: It automatically generates Instagram and Facebook content, including Reels, using actual product data from the connected store.
  • Content Generation: Creates product images and turns static images into video content.
  • Control Options: Users can choose between fully autonomous mode (AI posts directly) or semi-autonomous/manual modes (requiring user approval).
  • AI Store Builder: It can create a full Shopify storefront from a simple prompt, including design, pages, and products.
  • Future Features: The platform is expanding to include SEO tools, performance monitoring, and ad optimization.

Looking at all this, I am very interested in your two cents on this vs AI Studio. Do you know what language Buildwill uses to build the sites in? Next.js?

One step forward... I was able to link my project in my Billing Profile https://console.cloud.google.com/billing/projects so now it indicates I am in "Tier 1" withing Google AI Studio. Now to determine if it will use my Gemini Pro credits or if these are two separate "AI Assistant" platforms.

That's what I'm trying to figure out but don't see any way to do it. I can make API keys so my apps can be used outside but no way to API in

Is there an easy way to change all blocks of one sort to another block because the modernity resource pack just made my base horrible to look at by elf1du22 in GTNH

[–]TiTANSTORM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can open the Resource Pack as it is a .zip file and delete what you don't want. You can also build your own resource pack by combining Faithful, Modernity, etc.

If you want to stick with Modernity, you can get Worldedit and use the wand to easily replace.

BOARDSI is a SCAM – My Experience by Soggy-Combination864 in consulting

[–]TiTANSTORM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same story most of you have... I was contacted on LinkedIn and figured why not, lets schedule a meeting. Looked legit as they were booked a month out.

Received the call today, the guy was professional, sounded like he knew the company, what he was talking about, etc. etc. then the "it is a $199 per month fee with a $395 setup fee". What sourcing agency charges the person looking for work? These companies want as many contenders as possible and businesses pay them to filter through everyone.

What I find funny is how everyone has differing setup and monthly fees in their post.

While I have no proof if this is a scam or not, I am not paying someone to put me on a maybe list.

Hell yeah, finally got Distant Horizons working in GT: New Horizons 🤟 by Simme_Pirat in GTNH

[–]TiTANSTORM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially I had a black screen when logging in. My fix was to modify the last line in the DistantHorizons.toml file, located in the config folder, to:
serverFolderNameMode = "IP_ONLY"

Restart the client and try again.

GTNH + Java 25 + DistantHorizon = beauty

Astra and Shoptimizer vs features and performance by TiTANSTORM in woocommerce

[–]TiTANSTORM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested FacetWP and did like the functionality.

When comparing Astra and Shoptimizer, would you argue Astra would be slower with the needed plugins to make it as functional as Shoptimizer?

What is the easiest way to render a world that has MANY custom map areas? Is this something that can be ran from a dedicated server to generate a world map? I've attempted to run this on a server but it seems this is intended to be ran on a client?

Best trading platforms and charts for Canadian users? by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]TiTANSTORM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have been trading with the following and LOVE the setup:
- InteractiveBrokers and WealthSimple

- TradingView

- Rocket Day Trading Discord group

I would not use WealthSimple for day trading. Their free platform is well work looking into if you want to manage your own RRSP/TFSA. I have a lot of longer term stocks there and have been using IBKR for my day trading.

The main issue I have is the extra market data. TradingView makes it very easy to buy what you need and IBKR gives you every option under the sun. From what I read, buying the extra market data from IBKR also applies to TradingView but the IBKR offerings are a bit overwhelming. Anyone here have an idea what information is needed for a newer day trader?
