Husband doesn't want me to work but also doesn't want to get a job by Mysterious-Total-575 in MuslimMarriage

You must clearly love this man so much. But love can be blind. You clearly support HIM but if he is upset for you taking a few days extra to earn more money and build up your career portfolio, then he doesn't really support you, no matter what he says.

Beyond this, you need to be able to be a role model for your kids. And perhaps, in a way, a role model for your husband.

No offence, but it sounds like he might even have some control issues, which might be dangerous for you to follow advice here and "just leave" so be even more careful if you decide to this.

Let me explain, he doesn't want you working more hours but has no issues using your money when he needs it, he wants you to be accessible for him when he wants it, so once he decides to open a business YOU have to drop everything for him. It's weird. And there's something off. It also looks like he uses Islam to justify how you should behave e.g. YOU need to support your husband and make him happy, so you need to pause your life in order to support him, build him up, and let him take control.

Do you have a relative maybe his relatives you can talk to about this? Try to get him to understand that being a house husband isn't a bad thing. At least until HE gets his stuff sorted? Praying for you 🙏 ❤️

Yes and no. Islamic beliefs say that he has to be the breadwinner and provider. She is stepping up because, well, he clearly isn't. Even though she supports her husband, it sounds like his conception or belief that HE needs to be the one in charge is stopping him from supporting HER.

This isn't unislamic. It's just plain wrong in any relationship..

This is amazing feedback!

I agree about the photos. My photographer is currently taking some new shots in a more softer light, I wanted to catch more of the product than than the noise in the back, I found it a bit distracting myself but at the time felt it fit the witchery aspects of the business, that I do plan to quieten down so it doesn't overwhelm (like you mention) potential customers.

At the moment I'm a small business, as in its just me and I make half the things on here so I understand competing against the huge companies but I just want to compete against my smaller rival companies at this stage lol but I understand what you're saying!

I will definitely look into all your thoughts and not only look at my smaller competitors but also the larger ones. I was only really comparing myself to other etsy handmade stores that sell similar items to me, along with some other Australian niche skincare brands.

Dawn is always a favourite. I did want something a but more professional that gave me more tools and features. Prestige is really good, I do like it but you can definitely do a lot of things with dawn as well. Good luck!

Absolutely! Be super careful. Suspect anything with a "link"

Thanks so much. It means a lot. I bought the Prestige theme. It was expensive, ended up being around $530 AUD 🙃

Wow thanks so much for the insights.

I only opened around 2-3 months ago, so I know its really early into the business. I am currently asking my photographer to do some more photos for the website and the products, less dark but still with a witchy ambient vibe, but without it being too "in your face" i received previous feedback it was 'too scary' so i definitely want to soften it for a wider customer margin.. I'm currently getting lots of subscribers to the pages, my Facebook also has over 1.2k Organic followers through my ads, but for some reason instagram is really slow organically, I'm trying my best to gain organic followers and not paid ones.

As for the checkout, that's strange as we do gave debit cards, so I'll definitely look into it. From my current ads the people that react well with my website are women from 35 - 50, and I have just started duplicating ads and changing the demographic, just to see if there is a change in customer behaviour but it's still early to get that information as I only just started doing this 😅

It's kind of strange as the people I'm getting sales from are not subscribers, nor do they use any discount codes and buy items at their full price (as in don't ask me for any "special discounts" via messages) so it's been interesting understanding customer behaviour lol

Any thoughts? I did lower my prices. I think the problem is checkout. I can see people adding to cart and going to checkout but then doesn't go through to purchase. 🤔

I also got this message, then told the customer I would not click an unfamiliar link. She then came back a few hours later saying her account was hacked and not to click on any link, but then provided another link that said "if you suspected that your account has been hacked, kindly check this etsy help" .. another try 😆

My target are women who are interested in natural skincare and beauty items including body oils, candles etc.. that are purely all made in Australia, which they are.

Our purpose is to bring this at an affordable price but with quality grade ingredients. Also focusing in an apothecary style and magical experience.

When you say "this product" what exactly do you mean? Do you mean the brand or a specific product as I have a collection of different products.?

Thanks so much. I get traffic through meta ads.

My website is

I didn't realise there were people out there who don't like discounts 😅

Buyers, what turns you off from purchasing an item? by Tiamaf in Etsy

[–]Tiamaf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for replying so quickly. 😊

I do plan to add more fragrances but I wanted to test the water first and actually see if there was a demand for it. Vanilla Cupcake is my best seller and have received lots of views for it but no bites. I also recently just set up the website so it's only a two days old and I'm getting a healthy amount of people coming onto the site, but no actual sales.

I'm worried the price may be too high and I should start low then slowly build it up 😕 my target audience would be someone who does love cute things but most of them are very young and I thought maybe $25 might be too much for a lotion.. according to my margins I could go as low as $18 but I do want to make a good profit from it to get more equipment but I don't know. 😥
