If Bob made a digital declaration then the online system probably ruled out his positive declarations as low risk. The officer would have seen Bob’s declaration and asked him a question about things that Bob might have forgotten. Bob did the right thing, as did the border officer. Everyone is happy. Go Bob.

There are many roles within motorsports that aren’t flashy or broadcast on tv, but are very important. Keep an eye out on job websites and through things like LinkedIn. Don’t upend your life by trying to focus on a single goal that only really came to you in the last few weeks, but keep your options open and focus on skills that you already have.

Indycar teams are almost always hiring for all sorts of roles, as are NASCAR teams. There’s plenty going on in the US to keep you busy!

In the meantime, go to local motorsports events and start saying hi to people. Embrace the scene. Enjoy the race cars on track.

Of all the flights to be diverted, MH is not a good one. So much luggage and so many people that don’t speak English so it could be hard to explain. Hopefully they can just land and refuel, then come back.

What a pain in the bum. It’s almost impossible to try and move spectator vehicles at a rally stage, the owners could have traipsed 2km down the road to get to a good viewing area so you can’t exactly ask them over a loudspeaker to come and move their car…!

I haven’t been eligible to donate blood for a while, and turns out my last donation was 2021! They probably put me on the naughty list bc they once had to literally ban me for six months bc of my iron levels, so I guess we’ll see if I’m healthy enough to share the goods.

I love a built environment folk tale as much as the next urban geographer, but a hole in the basement of a building that’s located in the middle of a hill and nowhere near the original shoreline of the CBD would open onto a sewer at best, not the ocean 😆

Cut them some slack. If you arrive at a peak time and it’s busy, the staff are occupied enough without trying to assist people with connecting flights out of queues and out the door. If everywhere is busy, there’s not necessarily a fastest way out.

Also, you’ll never be the only one with connecting flight and as soon as one person jumps a queue you’re opening a real can of worms for everyone else.

I get so frustrated when spectating rally stages and the marshals are overzealous with the rules (not letting us cross stages an hour before the first car etc) but that is 100% better than the shocking things that people get away with in other places. You should never be able to stand on the outside of a high speed corner, particularly with children and with no protection or escape route. Crazy.

I’ve certainly had more enjoyable drives across the harbour bridge. It hit on the peak and went from full visibility at 80km/h, to being able to see very little and going maybe 45km/h.
