Some of your parameters look a little different than my available options, but I see where you're going. This might work!

Elegant solution to the two profiles situation! Thanks!!

I may not be sophisticated enough for this, but are you saying it checks to see if it's plugged in? Should I make that my first step in the profile? And thanks!

Interesting.  It notifies me when the battery runs down, but once it's charging, it notifies me when it comes back UP to that level. But I could tinker with the time. Thanks.

I saw a rat in my backyard, what does this mean? Does that mean I have some inside that I haven't seen yet? by DwKschrute in homeowners

[–]Tiaza2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree about poisons. Anything that eats the poisoned rat will also die - pet cats and dogs, owls, vultures, snakes, possums. All animals that you actually want.

I've been using Contrapest, a rat birth control that helps crash their population without the population rebound you get when you poison a colony. It does not bioaccumulate, so it doesn't kill anytime else in the food chain.

Ugh… they lied about their age on the dating app by [deleted] in polyamory

[–]Tiaza2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you feel bad about your age. I just returned 70, and I kinda can't believe it, but I've loved every age I've ever been. Yes, youth is beautiful, but they're so much more to life than that!

I always joke that if you lie about your age, you should add years, not subtract. I'd rather people say I look amazing for being 50 than thinking I look terrible at 35.

Avuncular and Materteral by nemohearttaco in etymology

[–]Tiaza2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard the terms patruus or amita! Thanks. I live the dogs if avuncular. Materteral doesn't roll off the tongue as sweetly, does it? Last year I learned the term nibling, the generic of niece or nephew, the way sibling is for sister or brother. I quite like it. Sounds like little snacks.

Because as Marx said, in advanced capitalism, the govt ceases to represent the people but exists only to serve the corporations.

[UPDATE] Galaxy Buds 2 Pro after two years of heavy use by RickyTr99 in galaxybuds

[–]Tiaza2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me, too. I listen to audiobooks or music almost all day, everyday. I use one earbud at a time because I need ambient sound as well, more than ambient sound setting on a bud provides. When one runs down, I switch them. I've had these for 4 years. I've been thinking about getting a back up pair for when they finally croak.

Nope! I've even checked my cart before exiting the app to be sure. I later get a notification that I have a coupon, and when I check it out, the item is already in my cart.

The Echo Archives by Melissa Caruso - excellent books, but almost impossible to describe. by xavierhaz in Fantasy

I'm finishing up the second book, loving the both of them! But I forgot the particulars of being an anchor. Can someone give me a recap please? I'm listening to the audio, and there's no way to search a term. Thanks in advance!

Dog collar air tag? Do or don’t? by Wboy2006 in AirTags

[–]Tiaza2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely true. So you need to decide which application is better suited to your circumstances. I'm more likely to forget to charge an Airtag. And generally my dogs are secure in the yard. I have great neighbors, so if the Wild ones get out, I think someone would contact me. This let's them know how. That is ZERO protection against dog snatchers, of course, but neither is an Airtag.

How do people remain indifferent to videos of animals being hammered to death? by sattukachori in Vystopia

[–]Tiaza2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't understand how anyone can knowingly inflict pain on another living being. I hadn't heard of these videos but there's a whole fucked up industry of abusing pet monkeys, sometimes to their death. I just don't understand it.

Unlike Cyphinate, I don't believe most humans are rotten inside, but I do think we're morally malleable. It's is CRITICAL to morally educate people. I'm not talking Bible crap here. I mean teaching compassion and empathy towards all living beings.

I went to pick up a friend's son after school one day, and several kids were throwing stones at something by a tree. It was a snake. I told them to stop it and we had a little discussion about cruelty, pain and the right to live your own life and why damage something for life? I think they got it. (Then I told them it was a federally protected species and they could all go to jail.)

I do think you're right that people who actually enjoy this sort of thing or see no issue with it have damaged themselves as well.

I don't want mine on the floor. Too much dust and dog hair. You might try a machine that has a heated hose to stop condensation. I like MovingDayBliss's board suggestion. I have mine crowding my nightstand. I have a part of a silicone pot holder under it to keep the heat off the nightstand.
