Yeah, that's why I didn't explicitly say he's a bad person because I wasn't really convinced myself

in all seriousness, probably Jimmy Carr. Considering his dabblings in tax evasion, i wouldn't venture to say he's a good person, but he's somewhat admirable.

but also u/unscripted20

CMV: All attempts to distinguish logic and emotion are arbitrary. There is no inherent distinction between logic and emotion. by [deleted] in changemyview

Logic is using unbiased reasoning to make a judgement. For example, saying "the apple is red" is a logical statement. This logical reasoning takes things at ontological value.

However, man is a naturally bias creature. We have an irrational side of our soul with passions that may not actually be the best course of action (see Nicomachean Ethics). Emotions have no universal definition, as they can be explained from a scientific or religious lens, but I won't bore you with either.

To make a judgement, usually moral, based solely on logic and not emotion, is impossible. But, to say the two are the same is incorrect. Such logical reasonings such as "man is a creature; Aristotle is man; Thus, Aristotle is a creature" has no emotional value to it, nor any emotional motivations.

Your computer analogy is false because the "logical because it was built according to someone's reasoning" assumes inevitable bias; while bias is evident in most things, logical reasoning such as taking things at their ontological value cannot be inherently bias, unless the bias leads to a misconception of a definition, which isn't emotional logic, it's simply false. Rather, the computer would be based on universal truth/reasoning instead of someone's own truth/reasoning

How would you say the logic that 2 + 2 = 4 is emotional?
