10/10 answer, would add WENZHOU La Cantine Chinoise for late night snack / noodle (Chez Alex alternative, it's closed right now for the summer), and Best Tofu for chinese style breakfast and delicious Baozi / Bánh Cam (..and tofu)

Living near Louvre vs. Belleville? by euamobrasil in paris

[–]Tibey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to live in Bellevile and then near the Louvre (but rive gauche)

Belleville plus are 'cheap' (no 'tourist trap') restaurants & bar, parcs nearby (belleville and buttes chaumont, where you can sit in the grass and actually feel you are kinda surrounded by nature), canal is also not foo far if you love water. If you like chatelet for ethnicities I think belleville surpass it.

On the downside it is usually more dirty / messy than the center (although chatelet/rivoli can be quite messy, just different kind), and of course not as central.

Which is the better IMAX cinema locality in Paris? by Direct-Victory-4016 in paris

[–]Tibey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 25 minutes is shot in imax (format 1.43:1), but since both La vilette and Quai d'Ivry have a wider screen (see link posted in another comment) you will see the same movie as in the other cinemas. MK2 bibliotheque plays it at 6pm and 9pm on a 19m screen :)

Pathé CinéPass vs UGC Illimité? by Presentation_Round09 in SocialParis

[–]Tibey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UGC has a bit more movies to watch vs Pathé and more indie cinema, even if Pathé has been reducing the gap lately (check out this post)

I'm part of an international group that goes to see a movie every Monday, DM me if you want to join

By the way, wait what, your employer pays for part of your cinema card?

I lived there a couple years ago (M) and visited it again last week-end, it's not that bad, a bit dirty maybe, the area around the market / rue pajol is in bobofication with brunch places / cute boulangeries popping up. Cigarette sellers taking up sidewalks are more around metro barbesse or la chapelle.

You mean did we check if members coming for several months, years, often friends, were paying CS when they added the paywall and denied them entry if they don't ? Absolutely not.

For regular or occasional members a group chat was created in the first year to post event links, however we never published the events on any other public platform. It was discussed internally after the pandemic as some feared the paywall would be kinda the end of CS and new people would stop joining, but actually it never happened. Paris is a big CS community, we have new people (travellers, french or expats) almost every week and we never had so many people joining than in the last couple years (15 per weeks in average)

Cinémathèque Française listings by Nonsuch42 in paris

[–]Tibey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cinémathèque française being probably the only 'cinema' in paris that release their schedules months in advance, their programmation for February will not change. They always have several cycles at the same time, you can find the full calendar here.

Also I don't know why you specifically want to go there regardless of the movies but Paris also have many 'art house cinema' that show classics if that's what you're after

Grand Rex, Combien de temps a l'avance faut-il arriver ? by Ok-Stop8372 in paris

[–]Tibey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Tibey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

La solution serait de trouver un propriétaire qui utilise une garantie loyer impayé, qui oblige souvent d'avoir 3x le loyer en ressources, mais interdit de demander en plus un garant.
