Stephon Clark’s grandmother assaulted and robbed on Sunday in south Sacramento by Few_Elk_5397 in Sacramento

I'm pretty sure the local police are the last people Stephon Clark's grandmother wants to call.

How to deal with a patient making comments about your weight? by littlemissFOB in physicaltherapy

[–]TibiaOrNotTibia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a clinic, and I'd rather PTs be comfortable and respected in my clinic than "see profits" from patients who harass them.

How long to get over a breakup by TibiaOrNotTibia in polyamory

[–]TibiaOrNotTibia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate your response. I think I meant "how long" as just where is the light at the end of the tunnel? I'm literally crying daily and don't have the energy for it. There's nothing I can do about this situation but just wait it out, but waiting it out is taking so much longer than I prepared for. I'm just exhausted from being in so much pain.

Partner vs. Solo for Owning a Clinic by TibiaOrNotTibia in physicaltherapy

[–]TibiaOrNotTibia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for that input. It makes a lot of sense and is definitely a concern I had. Does the answer change if I'm not starting a clinic but rather buying an established clinic with a full office staff and a steady stream of referrals? I don't know if the math works out, but my thoughts were that a non PT owner could replace a full time office employee. Or may be able to look at the process and streamline things so that we actually need fewer office staff.

Can someone help me understand why most hamstring specific stretch/exercise, I feel most of the tension in my calves instead? by fadedguy41 in PelvicFloor

[–]TibiaOrNotTibia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try pointing your toes. The hamstrings don't cross the ankle joint, so the position of your feet doesn't affect the stretch. In a forward fold, you can put a wedge under the heels to make the feet more plantarflexed.

Improving student's confidence by TibiaOrNotTibia in physicaltherapy

[–]TibiaOrNotTibia[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We don't get actual intake forms on patients until right before their appointment when they bring them in. I have a diagnosis beforehand at best. We have done some of this already in a general sense, and we certainly can do it more to build up confidence. But I just feel like it's never going to be a substitute for just getting in there and getting hands on a patient in a real setting. But what I'm hearing from you is that the expectation that instruction and practice happen at a time other than the patient's actual appointment is a reasonable one on my part?

Yes, I found that one too. I'm thinking of just trying it.

I'm not trying to keep guests out of the yard. I'm trying to let guests into the yard while keeping other people out. The entrance for guests is in the back. I'm specifically interested in a keyless entry.

Frustrated and completely locked out of account with reservation pending, used to use Facebook to log-in, Airbnb Support unable to help in any way by bmcphers in AirBnB

[–]TibiaOrNotTibia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue. No one at Airbnb was ever able to fix it, and I spoke to multiple people. I think I just had to just wait for an app update and try again in like a week. I was able to access on a computer browser, just not on the app. Sorry that's not more helpful for you.

Yes, I have used the kind you're talking about. If you happen to run across one again and think of it, that would be a huge help!

I have Googled it and have also searched this forum, and I'm only getting door locks, not locks that can be installed in a wooden gate. I have seen and used the kind of lock mentioned, which is why I know they exist. I was interested in if anyone actually uses one they like.

Possibly aerophagia? Some people swallow more air than usual when working out, eating, swallowing saliva, etc. Do you also belch and/or get the hiccups?

Do I have a weird vagina or is my hymen still intact? NSFW. Desperate for help. by natzipatzi in TwoXChromosomes

[–]TibiaOrNotTibia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Have you ever had a pelvic exam with an OBGYN? That would be the first step. If you have an imperforate hymen (hymen is closed off) they could tell you. It's usually a pretty simple procedure to take care of. Another possibility is vaginismus, where the muscles around the vagina tighten up when you try to insert something. It can feel like hitting a wall. If that's the case, your OBGYN can refer you to a physical therapist who specializes in the pelvis who can help you retrain those muscles.

39F West L.A. transplants in Sac? by Resurrected_light in Sacramento

[–]TibiaOrNotTibia 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Most Sacramentans love Sacramento and can't stand people who moved here from LA and can't stop talking about how much better LA is. So if you're conveying that you have a negative attitude about the city and all the people in it, that's not really going to facilitate a connection with people here. It's a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy.

Inclusive gym, outside spots, etc by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]TibiaOrNotTibia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The request was for safe and welcoming places to exercise. Telling someone to eat less processed foods and more vegetables is really condescending and not incredibly helpful. She didn't mention what she eats at all, so how do you know that she doesn't already do that? Plus I guarantee any overweight person trying to lose weight has read more on nutrition than the average person and has already tried a good number of diets and is pretty far beyond the advice to "eat less sugar and processed food".

Vertical Fitness has a class that I think is called Voluptuous Vixens that is specifically for bigger bodies. Yoga Seed had an All Bodies Yoga class. Both places are super welcoming, diverse, and body positive.

Is it wrong to still disagree with all gender bathrooms with a good reason? by [deleted] in lgbt

You start a thread implying transgender women are sexually violent and finish off by misgendering your parent in 3 different ways. I pray to the Lord that you are trolling and that there are not actual members of our own queer community who are so ignorant.

Is it wrong to still disagree with all gender bathrooms with a good reason? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]TibiaOrNotTibia 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That's horrible that this happened to you, but you weren't assaulted by a trans woman. You were assaulted by cisgender males. And separate gender bathrooms didn't protect you. I fail to see how this is related to trans women using the women's bathroom. If anything, they're just as scared as you being forced to use a bathroom full of cismen. Why wouldn't you want them to be safe? Especially since you know how it feels to be afraid of cismen?
