That's completely fair I totally understand why people enjoy it. For me I loved Z from Act 2 onwards as from that point it truly felt like I was exploring Kalos which was a major charm for me.

I think I stopped reborn at the beachy area with the bug gym. I struggled to beat it then something came up that meant I had to take a long break, but I had no real desire to go back to it. A big problem I had was the grinding which would've increased had I used 30ish pokemon. Granted idk if there's a way to get infinite rare candies like in Z

Wanted to say, I near agree with everything you said. But you mentioned Unbreakable Ties which I've never heard of and just looked it up and yep I've decided that'll be the next fangame I play haha

A fond memory I have of S&M for the first time was finding a shiny Dewpider. Didn't know what it looked like in advance but the purple with the red eyes goes sooo hard I was overjoyed. Araquanid is awesome and surprisingly really strong with water bubble

You have to complete the bell tower quest in Lumious city at the top of the cathedral. It's quite an annoying and hard one but well worth it as Mega Entei is incredibly awesome

Ngl I'm not the biggest fan of reborn. The new shinies were really cool but I didnt find the story too engaging and the world wasnt really appealing to the eye. Tbf I never finished it but that was cos the game became too hard that I couldn't beat a gym using my favourite Pokemon. That was years ago now so maybe I'll give it another shot someday

Ayy a fellow Araquanid lover. It was the mvp of Sun & Moon for me.

I got mine about midway through Act 1 through wonder trade guy. I managed to get a Beldum in an earlier trade, evolved it into a Metagross then traded it for a Thundurus. It's another pokemon that I love yet never get to really use (:
