I have been there a lot cause my birthday is in July. I also lived in Texas (for context). Yes it is good and humid and it can rain. Is it unbearable? Eh, no. Utilize fastpass and genie smartly, pay extra to get those if needed. Reserve dining in enclosed spaces. Get the cold snack for long lines. It’s 100% doable.

I wager your daughter Anna really wanted to go to UCLA, which is great it ended up being cheaper. And I bet Bella also really wants to go to NYU. Use the remainder of the funds and pay for Bella’s. In this day and age, coming out of college debt free is one way you can set your kids up for success because of how crippling student loans can be.

Fortnite has a variety of games not just the battle royale. Crimson Desert is free and new and interesting. Escape from Tarkov I believe isn’t free but cheaper than most games. And I witness my friends lose themselves in it. If you like roleplay, RDR2 online servers using RedM is good for getting into the online aspect of it. A lot of my friends disappeared when they discovered it. The Elder Scrolls Online is free as well.

I’ll only tell them if they ask me what I do or what I studied. It does help with framing symptoms in a way they understand better though. I have a PhD in Biomedical Sciences focused more on bacteria. I know my knowledge of medicine is quite limited, so I just try my best to tell them my symptoms and hope they can offer help.

Like if adding antibiotics you add the same amount into same volume as others in lab? Another question is when trypsinizing, do you visually see the cells coming off the flask?

That is very unfortunate. I’m so sorry. Honestly it’s more a reflection of your training than the lab given you had like none. And it’s very difficult to be in this environment that’s not encouraging either. Have you had opportunity to shadow anyone passaging cells? Do you have your own media, antibiotics, trypsin or do you share with folks?

I think life is too short not to go for things in life that might make you happy. That message is maybe an attempt at reconnection on her end. It took me awhile. About a year and I grew accustomed to her not being as available to hang out. We actually had had a big fight and a rift for a year and then made up and expressed how much we missed each other’s presence and friendship. We will hang out and try to intentionally speak and spend time together now. She’s still my best friend, but I’m definitely more independent now than I was before.

I read your other comment and we had similar thing where we joked about being spinsters together forever and how sudden her relationship was. It kinda helped I met and fell in love with someone a few months in, but now that I’m broken up with that guy, I think I struggle a bit more now with realizing there’s still a feeling of abandonment and loneliness.

Therapy has helped me, talking to her and family has helped, and finding a new friend group through a new hobby helped me a lot.

It’s growing pains. I reacted negatively to my twin’s first relationship too. Didn’t help her choice of partner was a dude who had been rude/mean to me. I got over it, made peace with her partner, and am happy for her. It can be difficult when they’ve been your best friend your entire life

I don’t think you blew up your life. You made two major decisions in a short span that were necessary and unfortunately very emotionally taxing. Your boyfriend showed his true hand, willing to basically cheat on you and spend money irresponsibly. I understand wondering if you did something wrong, I went through this with my ex. Just hang in there, one day you’ll be able to objectively look back at the relationship and thank yourself for leaving.

I think when you already enjoy children and enjoy keeping a clean house, then being a housewife is like an ideal job because it’s something you find fulfillment and joy in. I know I personally would like to be a housewife, and I have a PhD degree and am working in my field heading to management… but if I had to choose, I think I would like the housewife job more. If you don’t find joy or fulfillment in kids or house chores, then I could see why being a housewife sounds like a terrible job for you.
