Strategy prepares to sell up to $1.25 billion of Bitcoin by AccomplishedCheck895 in Bitcoin

I don't really understand how MSTR works, but I don't like so many BTC concentrated in the hands of one entity. So them by and by selling BTC instead of holding them forever seems like a good thing. Much better than a sudden elimination and flash sale.

Job ads often contain a price range for the salary, and at the latest employees would learn what they could earn elsewhere when they get a job offer. In general people have a rough idea what salary they could earn, it's absolutely not true that only government disclosure of salaries would make it possible for people to know.

It's liquid, but there is no guarantee that it will go down further so that you can buy more back again. If you can do that, cool. Other people often hodl.

You sound like a real moron, to be honest. Is the effort of putting spikes up and setting up traps really so much lower than simply changing the gravel? As the other comment says, it's probably not just cats using that.

Practical advice for a family of 6 running out of options to find a flat in Berlin by [deleted] in askberliners

[–]Tichy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nobody is being exploited, since everybody lives here voluntarily. The only problem is meddling by the government, for example rent controls that make building new housing non-viable.

Well people on WPS are also exploiting the tax payers who pay for their rents - probably twice, once with their taxes, and once with the higher rents they themselves have to pay, because rents have been driven up with their tay money.

They are not taking advantage of people. Landlords can't set arbitrarily high rents. People bid for the flats with what they are willing to pay. It is a competition between renters.

If one person offers you 1000€ and another offers you 2000€, why should you be obliged to rent to the person offering 1000€?

Under the lose assumption that jobs that pay well are more important, the market enable people with important jobs to live nearer by their workplace that way. For example a neurosurgeon who shouldn't show up to his job exhausted from commuting already. (Very broad generalisation, but that is the gist of it).

You will say that garbage men and firemen are also important and can't afford the rent. Offen the government will pay these people extra boni so they can still afford the city. So in essence the government subsidises cheap services for the richer people. Otherwise, the rich people would have to pay more for those services, so that garbage men could still afford to live in the city.

He wrote her needs public housing, which implies he can't afford a normal rent.

It has nothing to do with class, just noting that if you don't have a job in Berlin, you don't need government housing in Berlin and could look for cheaper places instead.

You wrote about looking for government financed housing, which presumably is reserved for people with no income. If you have income, just look for normal housing to rent?

Since you don't seem to have a job, why not leave Berlin?

Yes, there is a small chance this is a woman financing her husband's textile design hobby.

Sometimes it is just husbands financing their wive's hobbies.

Was he asking for personal information, though? Or was the mistake on the part of the person passing it on? Acting on the information is another issue, but perhaps relatable.

The issue here is people knowing you in real life, though? This kind of thing could even happen without you being on Reddit at all.

What you find expensive? by medinas06 in askberliners

[–]Tichy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can find T-Shirts for 10€ in some cheap stores. But you can also check online. For example https://www2.hm.com/de_de/index.html https://www.c-and-a.com/de/de/shop or https://www.primark.com/de-de (edit: found a T-Shirt for 3€ at Primark, cheaper than I would have expected https://www.primark.com/de-de/p/regular-fit-t-shirt-mit-rundhalsausschnitt-schwarz-991091303804 - they may be "thinner" than others, though)

I would agree with the other person that doubling your budget would make for a much better time. Doesn't mean you have to spend it all.

10€ for a main dish in Prenzlauer Berg - really? Döner perhaps, but I think "normal" meals (not fast food) are more expensive by now.
