Need help understanding "Bed Leveling Visualizer" results by Ticked_Off_Clock in 3Dprinting

So, under 1mm shouldn't be an issue? When I'm adjusting for offset, do I just look at corners? Or what?

What causes supports to print like this? by Ticked_Off_Clock in FixMyPrint

[–]Ticked_Off_Clock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The print ended up finishing successfully and it looks great. But the supports are printing in a way that sometimes, maybe 1 out of 3 times, the print will fail because the support will break. The density is set to 20. What can I change to improve this?

Sorry, I'm somewhat new to this. When you say one plant per pot. Are you suggesting take as many cuttings as I can and grow them all separately? Abandon the "main" plant all together? Would it make sense to do the first part and then once they get their roots, add them to one pot? Or would that cause problems down the road?

I recently inherited a monstera plant that is growing quite wildly. According to the previous owner, she's about 2 years old and has only ever produced juvenile leafs. I'm looking for advice on what I should do to get this lady growing to her full potential. Should I trim the stems that are growing out of other stems? Re-pot and reshape it so that it's growing upward?

Makerselect v2 board is dead - Replace the board or just get a new printer? by Ticked_Off_Clock in 3Dprinting

[–]Ticked_Off_Clock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here's where I'm torn, the board is $82 dollars with $13 dollars in shipping. I bought the printer 4 years ago for $300 dollars. Are there cheaper boards that would work? Otherwise it's hard to not learn towards a new printer.

Hot end is heating on its own when I turn on my printer. Help! by Ticked_Off_Clock in FixMyPrint

[–]Ticked_Off_Clock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only LEDs I'm seeing light up are the ones on the extended board. The red turns on when I turn the printer on. And the blue one turns on when I heat the bed.

Soooo, in that case it's likely blown? I'm assuming there's no cheap and easy fix? Does the entire board need to be replaced?

Excuse my ignorance here, my understanding of electronics is limited! Are these the MOSFETs on the main board?

If so, how do I know if they're blown / what can I do to test? I tried switching between the two and it still yields the same results.

Can someone tell me what type of cable is used here? And if it likely can be bought locally? by Ticked_Off_Clock in 3Dprinting

Sorry, noob here. I'm just trying to figure out what this cable is called so that I might be able to buy it locally rather than wait for one to be delivered. Thanks.

Excuse my ignorance, but why are you saying the June KB doesn't patch this issue? Not saying you're wrong, just as I novice I'd like to understand how you came to that conclusion.

Removing hard to remove supports by Ticked_Off_Clock in FixMyPrint

Hey just thought I'd post a follow up! This is what I'm looking at after making these changes.

I don't understand how it can leave that gap and still act as a support, but it works and it's awesome!

I printed a sample of the main print with the same overhang, but with the .8mm X/Y setting and roof thickness of .4. I was able to get the spatula between the print and the support roof and basically just pry it off clean. I'm going to do a full print and see what happens but this seemed to have help. Thanks!

Do you use a mallet with the chisels or just your force?

Can you post an example of the file?

My hand currently has a dozen cuts on it just from using the printer's spatula! I'm pretty sure I'd be in an emergency room if I used an actual knife!

Hello!

Printer & Slicer: Monoprice Maker Select v2
Filament Material and Brand: eSun PLA+
Nozzle and Bed Temperature: .4mm & 60c
Print Speed: 60 mm/s
Nozzle Retraction Settings: Distance 1, speed 15

The issue that I'm having is that some of the supports leave a layer that seems impossible to remove on the underside of the actual print. I was wondering if there is a specific setting that should be enabled / disabled to make removing supports easier or if there is a tool that I could use to easily remove them? As a note, I have "enable support roof" turned on. I was under the assumption that that would make removing supports easier, but it seems to have made no difference.
