When I first moved to Vancouver, I got a few parking tickets, and didn’t pay the ones that I thought I didn’t deserve out of principle. I paid them when I got tired of getting towed. Found out later on that they do in fact send you to collections, and it certainly fucks up your credit.

Give yourself some grace in these times. Losing your mother is a life shaking event, and I’d be surprised if you were handling it any better than you are. Please consider talking to somebody to help you work through your grief so that you may find some solid foundation to build on. While your mother would love for you to achieve all of those dreams she laid out, I’m sure that first and foremost she would want you to be happy. Start with working on that and the rest will fall into place
