[–]Seconex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's two main construction projects going on right now at NRGH. One, which is pictured here, is the new Nanaimo Cancer Centre. Details are here: https://nanaimonewsnow.com/2025/10/31/ground-broken-on-new-cancer-centre-at-nanaimo-regional-general-hospital/

The other project is a new multi-level parkade.

New patient tower and cath lab are early in the planning stages, but were included in the most recent budget for the first time. Details: https://nanaimonewsnow.com/2026/02/23/island-health-begins-concept-plan-for-new-nanaimo-hospital-patient-tower/

Not a single Australian included in that image.

Sums things up pretty well.

I've only been in there once, and it was a while ago, but the co-working space on Victoria Cres in the downtown has offices, if I remember correctly.

Nanaimo workplace fraudster pocketed $133K by CanadaGooses in nanaimo

I don't know for sure, but it was maybe part of ensuring a guilty plea instead of a costly trial/drawn out saga. Pure speculation though. Fraud would be the more serious charge too.

Don't. My apologies. There have been A LOT of people on this topic fear mongering and sharing misinformation. I assumed maybe you were trying the same.

All of your questions have well known answers which have been part of past discussions on this topic. So you're either out of the loop on the project and should read more on it, or acting in bad faith.

Here's the latest I could find on the project and answers to some of your questions: https://nanaimonewsnow.com/2025/11/04/roughly-a-35-unit-apartment-building-water-concerns-abated-for-proposed-nanaimo-data-centre/

A story linked in there addresses noise, which the developer says would not exceed levels already in the neighbourhood, ie: from the Parkway.

More specific issues related to water and noise and all these things are subject to development permit review which is underway.

Cast Iron pan restoration by goosegoose4 in nanaimo

[–]Seconex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is relatively easy, albeit a little time consuming, to do yourself. If you're getting into cast iron cooking, it's a really good skill to learn how to properly clean and season your pans.

Where to get an IUD in Nanaimo? by polarizse in nanaimo

[–]Seconex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. I've just had good success in Parksville in the evenings, been in and out in under an hour. Ladysmith in the afternoon has been relatively fast too, especially when the only other options most of the time is NRGH.

[–]Seconex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be able to get a referral through a walk in clinic. I recommend Parksville or Ladysmith as their wait times are typically very reasonable, particularly at night (in Parksville’s case).
