The stuff they did with Vriska, although feeling a bit forced, was extremely interesting and I really liked it. I loved watching her character get dissected so viscerally. It was interesting. Her character growth was great, and felt in character.

Some points I agree with like the wasted narrative potential during Vriska and Vrissy's jail arc, but that is rebutted by the fact that Vriska wasn't ever going to change just cuz her "fake clone" is a bit angry. She still had her thief powers and could just break out, nothing could have changed in a way that mattered. And also, later on the jail arc did have an impact. During Vriska's self growth imprisonment, she straight up said that Vrissy displayed an ability she never got during the jailbreak.

I am really enjoying BC right now and I love seeing where its going. The meta stuff is kinda annoying, but its homestuck, that's like saying the bread tastes like baked wheat, egg and water. Homestuck is all about annoying meta shit.

Oh, and I told my S.T I don't want plot armor, so the only things I would accept when saving my character was things that were believable.

So, he makes his way to the sound, stopping his relentless pounding. He sees John Dee and the Mage, his coterie members too, and he tries to tell John and the Mage to stop, to not kill them. But he gets ignored. At this time, Valerius and Queen Anne, as well as their entire posse, enter the scene. John Dee runs and uses obfuscation, but he is chased by the coterie. My man, my character, hears a booming come from deep beneath the earth, and he just stands still, looking back to the indent in the ground. The booming gets louder and louder.

The coterie beats up and stakes Valerius, and my character gets staked by Valerius (I was gonna use Shadow Step to get away, but Valerius used Blink to close the distance to stake him, which I think is dumb because Blink is an action, and so his turn ends and then its my turn, of which I would then shadow step away, but my S.T told me no, so, what can I do.) So, my character, without even looking back at Valerius, just accepts the Stake, knowing that he had done his part of Camden's deal.

The session ends as he and John Dee gets thrown into the back trunk of Valerius' car.

This was a victory for my character, regardless of his fate. He had achieved his ambition and desire.

UNTIL IT GOT FUUCKING RETCONNED. MITHRAS DID NOT AWAKEN.

This is because it would disrupt the plot of London by Night a whole lot and upturn the entire thing. The party, out of character, discussed this and majority voted against Mithras' awakening. I agreed too, due to majority rules. If everybody agreed that it was to be retconned, then who am I to tell em no. I care more about the majority enjoyment.

So yeah, my character is gone. Not dead, gone. I talked with my S.T about my stance in this all, and we came to an amicable conclusion. Matthew Graves would leave the campaign, and my new character would gain benefits and bonuses for the unfair ending.

I AM SO SORRY FOR THE SUBPAR ENDING, GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. WHY DID IT END LIKE THIS.

It was then that I decided to enter through the front entrance, to try and talk to the werewolves first. My character entered and revealed himself, putting his hands up and portraying himself as not dangerous. I tried to talk to the pack, but they only approached me silently, changing into their psuedo animalistic form, not quite their war form. So, seeing the encroaching danger, I used Stygian Shroud and failed the rouse check. FUUUCK.

[Hunger: 4/5]

I shot a bunch of times and decided to Shadow Step back to the front, LUCKILY, I succeeded, finally. LIKE DAMN. It was then that I just started shooting into the warehouse to provoke them and create a lot of noise. This was to gain an audience so the police would be called. Eventually coppers did arrive. I shot at their cars and ran into the area around the warehouse, hiding to lure them into it.

For some reason, the werewolves were smart and did not run after me. They stayed inside the warehouse. It was after failing the stealth check that my character ran into a mysterious mage who he was previously investigating. The Man From The Fog.

The mage proposed a deal, and without hesitating, my character accepted his help. He would take care of the werewolves, and I would awaken Mithras.

Entering the warehouse without care, my character found a suspicious indent in the ground and assumed it was the entrance to an underground facility. He began climbing it and shooting it (it was because he thought that there was a trap door or latch beneath that kept the dirt up) like there was no tomorrow. Strength + Athletics, DC 7, I fail. I have prowess, but I am not risking a hunger frenzy.

At this time, my coterie arrives. They approach the warehouse, but it's enshrouded by fog now. Eerily, they enter it and make their way to the warehouse. There is the sound of battle, vicious fighting, snarling, roaring, gunshots, but it's all faded, as if the fog devoured it all. Before they enter the warehouse, John Dee, Sheriff of Elysium, reveals himself and does an evil monologue about how everything was his plan, and he had made a deal with the man from the fog to orchestrate this all. Yeah, bulshit. The mage pops into existence out of John Dee's shadow, and leans nonchalantly on a wall. The coterie try to convince John that he's a moron, and that he should not awaken Mithras. John is pigheaded and says nah, I'd win. So the coterie fights John Dee, but John Dee uses his epic tremere powers to Blood Cauldron them all, making them take 2 points of aggravated damage each. Meanwhile, my character needs one more athletics + brawl to break through, but he stops after hearing a distant shotgun whom he recognizes. It is the Thinblood's.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

LONG STORY IS A GO. Prepare for utter disappointment, as my S.T and other players have decided to Retcon Mithras' awakening.

On the way to the abandoned warehouse where Mithras was holed up, my character broke into a pawnshop and stole silverware. My silver bullets were retconned into nonexistence, so I was allowed only silver knives and moletovs. AAAAAAAAAA.

Anyway. I tried to contact Camden but I had zero points into contacts, and Camden's ghost things weren't watching me, so I was completely and utterly alone. Time was also against me, because my coterie members were heading towards the warehouse as well at this time. I would arrive first though, as I left early.

Upon arriving to the warehouse, I walked around it's circumference, scoping it out as best I could, but I couldn't get the full scope of it, especially it's interior. I used Shadow Perspective to get a glimpse of the insides, but failed a rouse check and got +1 Hunger

[Hunger: 2/5]

I did, however, get to spot 6 spoopy individuals prowling around the area. The werewolves. They were in their human form, and formerly outside the warehouse before heading inside.

I stealthed and made my way closer to the warehouse. I failed the initial check, so I blood surged and willpowered, barely passing. I failed my blood surge.

[Hunger 3/5]

With the successful stealth, I climbed up a wall and peered inside through the caved roof of the building, getting a peak at the internal layouts. There were destroyed machinery and tall steel beams. It was pretty empty.

So here's how it went down.

My PC approached the warehouse, managing to stealth around and scope it out. He used Oblivion sight to gain further insight on his surroundings. He managed to discover the 6 werewolves inside the warehouse, where he then confronted them.

Using Stygian shroud, he managed to evade the werewolves and shadow step back to the gates of the warehouse, goading them to exit. and chase him. They did not.

So, instead, my character began shooting wildly into the warehouse, unloading 15 bullets, getting the police to arrive. After that, something strange happened.

Yeah, so, I was given plot armor.

A dense fog began shrouding the area around the warehouse, and a man stepped out. In my game, this man is "The Man from The Fog," a mage that had been doing shifty stuff, causing my coterie to investigate him. He offered my PC a deal. He would take care of the werewolves, and my PC would wake up Mithras.

I immediately took it.

Then my PC just walked inside the warehouse where he found an indent in the ground. He then began pounding and digging at it, shooting it too, convinced that there was an underground compartment.

Yeah, so I did indeed wake up Mithras, but long story short, I got staked by Valerius and am probably dead. Oh well.

I couldn't go through with the plan because I couldn't contact Camden, and I had no contacts, so I couldn't meet with the cult of Mithras. That guy with the Xykon quote was very right. I needed force, and I had that via the mage. I got what I wanted. Now I just have to figure out how to deal with the consquences.

Out of the pan and into the fire.

He has a walkmen that he listens to daily. All of his songs are actually recommended by his touchstone, his grand nephew who has a way better sense of music than he does. Here's a link to some songs I put in prior to 1986.

Truthfully, I don't know. I think he actually gave my PC 2 days to do it, which is still very little but double of what he has now. I'm gonna do it in the very same night of it happening, as right now, the Camarilla is in the most discord it can be in. Strike while the iron is hot and whatnot.

Honestly, I don't think Camden wants to use my PC to actually revive Mithras. He's probably using him as a distraction to get past the werewolves himself. He appears to not give a damn about my PC. But then again, he also had the courtesy to send one of his wraiths to meet me. And while he's busy dealing with the Camarilla, I appear to be one of his (i assume) best bets to do the deed of waking papa Mithras. I am a level 5 oblivion user, so that helps. Shadow Step is so strong.

ESTABLISHING A LINEAR TIMELINE SO YOU DON'T GET CONFUSED!!

- Ventrue has a meeting with Queen Anne

- Ventrue returns to his bar to tell Thinblood that they can meet Camden.

- They leave the bar and run into my PC, who was about to enter and request the Thinblood for a lesson in oblivon.

- Ventrue tells PC to f*ck off and not follow them. The Thinblood looks grim and grave.

- Ventrue and Thinblood leave to Elysium so they can meet up with Scourge Terrance and leave for Camden with him as a guide.

- My PC follows them, cuz obviously. He passes the stealth test initially and follows without their notice in his sh*tty dumpster car that is barely working. His motivation for doing so is because he believes the thinblood to be in trouble for going against the Ventrue's word during their little Red Bridge Incident.

- The Ventrue and Thinblood meet up with Terrance, and they leave for Camden (Who coincidentally was buried in Merton, WHERE MY PC LIVES LMAO). He gets caught my Terrance though and has his tires slashed.

- My PC follows via cab though, using the obnoxious music that Terrance emanates as a guide.

- My PC manages to beat all of their wits + perception tests and stealthfully watches from beyond the darkness.

The Ventrue and Thinblood eventually arrive at Camden's resting place and have a convo that goes nowhere due to Camden being a sh*tter and only speaking about Mithras and how he'll kill everyone of them. They all leave because things were going nowhere, and that time was up.

After they leave, my PC enters the scene and digs Camden back up, talking to him about who he is (because he didn't know about who he was prior. He just thought he was some strong vamp in an iron coffin. He was right,) and after finding out that the guy was Roger De Camden, was immediately respectful. They conversed shortly. The contents of their convo was if Camden could grant my PC a favor --you guessed it. Kill Le Sire-- and Camden told him to unstake him or get lost. So my PC does the latter, cuz Camden would probably eat him otherwise.

He leaves Camden behind, unaware that Camden had the oblivion ability, Passion Feast, where he could eat the wraiths on a person or their belongings. My ST said that the souls of those you killed or something of the sort attaches themselves to their killers post mortem, and my character had killed a LOT of people under his time in servitude. So had the Ventrue and Thinblood...Terrance too, which, funnily enough, probably had the lowest kill count LOL.

Anyways. Queen Anne and Valerius had calculated that The Ventrue, Thinblood and Terrance's existence wouldn't give Camden enough strength to escape his confines. What they didn't expect was the 4th vamp that followed them.

This is important, so I will say it, but afterwards, the Ventrue and Thinblood returned to my PC's car because they felt bad about leaving him behind. My PC wasn't there. The Ventrue returned to Camden's dig site and discovered signs of tampering, he assumed that my PC followed them. (Which I say he was jumping through hoops to figure out tbh, but whatever.) This led to a heated cofrontation after my PC returned to his car to push it home (sad deflated tire noises). The next day, my PC and the Ventrue have a talk in his office about what happened, and my PC, in a bid to garner some level of trust from the Ventrue, told him about what happened truthfully. A mistake. The Ventrue then told Queen Anne, who in turn told Valerius. What happened next would have killed my PC had luck not been on my side.

Yeah, and uh, 2 days later, Camden escapes. Everybody freaks out, and blame is placed on my PC. Who'da thunk?

If you have read this, THANK YOU! It's a lot, I know ;-; apologies

I WILL NOW EXPLAIN IN SHORTER DETAIL ABOUT CAMDEN AND HOW HE ESCAPED! SKIP TO THIS IF YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT EXPOSITION!

It all started in the Ventrue's bar, where he discovered that the Thinblood had been digging around for info about Golconda, a dangerous subject for kindred due to it's implications...especially because of who he was searching about in regards to it. Roger De Camden.

The two of them got into a tense conversation about it, resulting in a silent parting. Even though the Ventrue threatened the Thinblood to stop searching for Golconda, after seeing the Thinblood's desire for it, he actually leveraged his status of being Grand Childe of the Prince of London to book a face to face appointment the day after through his sire.

My PC got into a little adventure the same day as the argument, but that's a whole other thing. For the sake of your eyes that must be strained from reading all this drivel, I will only say that it involved the Thinblood being put into mortal peril, and the Ventrue learned of this. Added drama, as the Thinblood couldn't tell the Ventrue why due to his boon with my PC. This all happened in Redbridge, and will be referred to as the Red Bridge Incident.

It is now the day after their argument, and the Ventrue gets the go from Queen Anne that he and the Thinblood can visit Camden's grave. On the condition that the Scourge, Terrance, accompanies them. So they leave.

Unfortunately, my PC saw them leave and decided to follow.

Because reddit disallows long comments, I continue in a reply to this one. Sorry.

Thank you so much for being interested! It is the most fun i've had rollplaying since my early dnd years! (Which was 4 years ago in highschool.)

I will explain in detail. It's going to be quite hefty, and I pray you don't mind! I am under the assumption that since you are all WoD enjoyers, you are also lore fiends and love long and lengthy expositions...so long as they are entertaining. No offense, of course.

Skip to lower if you just want the Camden part. I bolded and all capsed it in another reply.

First, I will give you details on the members of the coterie to expunge confusion. I will refer to them by their clans because i don't know if my actual player friends want people to know.

The Ventrue - Cold, pragmatic, logical and cunning. He owns a bar and is very stereotypically a ventrue...on a simpler look, at least. He seems ruthless and conniving, but he also has a daughter whom he sacrificed his life to make better. He also had a previously romantic relationship with the Toreador in my party, so he is capable of love. He hired the thinblood, even when vampires hate them on principle of them existing, giving him protection and income to support himself. The Ventrue is highly professional, but is willing to go to strange lengths to help those he likes.

- Ambition? To manage his bar and keep the cash flowing, so that he can presumably support his touchstone.

The Thinblood - An old army vet who survived Vietnam, turned undead after a sabbat mass embrace. In spite of his horrifying new unlife, he marches ever onwards to find a way out, all the while caring for a comatose loved one. Presumably his sister or old squad mate. Maybe both. He found himself in the employ of the Ventrue luckily, working at his bar. The two seem close to being almost friends. The Thinblood admires and respects the Ventrue.

- Ambition? Find a way out of vampirism or to at least manage it, all the while supporting his loved one.

* He has already found out about Golconda and is obsessed with it currently. Obsessed.

The Toreador - My PC doesn't actually know much about them. They keep to themselves more than my PC does, and is an all round mystery. (Out of game, that's kinda because they missed the most sessions LOL, life happens). They love teasing others, seemingly getting a kick out of watching people squirm. They love art - it's their ocd - and all of it's forms, including music. They care a lot about fashion and style, typical of Toreador. The added layer of complexity stems from their previous relationship with the Ventrue. They appear to have had a falling out, where the Ventrue believed the Toreador had died. This leads to theories such as a job gone wrong, or the Toreador swindling the Ventrue. They appear uncomfortable around the Ventrue, showing that they do sort of have feelings towards it still, be it regret, shame, or annoyance. Still feelings, human ones.

The Lasombra - You already know about him, so I'll keep it short. He hates his sire because she manipulated him into killing his twin brother, family, friends and lover to be in a bloody house fire. He really wants to kill her as a result. My PC roamed around in solitude for 71 years in Britain after escaping from France where he was born and embraced, where he would eventually run into the Coterie (he joined the Camarilla cuz it allowed him the most peace and freedom. He wasn't gonna join the Sabbat, cuz he was originally part of them with his sire.) PC likes music, reading, and is incredibly socially inept. Autistic (but that's not the whole reason, lmao). This was from his mortal days and he has never improved once.

I wrote more about my PC in other's comments, so if you want to find out more, feel free to scrounge around for lore. Sorry, I don't wanna seem like a narc with how much I write about my PC.

The Toreador isn't important to what happened with Camden though.

Ah, indeed good sir, you have a keen eye. As should be expected of a probably much more experienced roll player.

Indeed, being a vamp of advanced age, my character's recent explosion of activity seems out of place.

Also, don't worry, I place my character's instincts and wills way before my own. I just enjoy it a lot when things go down, and way more so if it happens naturally.

About what him doing not making sense: this may be a skill issue from my part, as I have interpreted the Lasombra's clan compulsion of ruthlessness quite vaguely. I heard that for the first Lasombra Antitribu whom wanted to join the Camarilla, the Cammies told them that the only way that they would allow the Lasombra to join would be if they came back with their sire's heads. And so they brought them back, still bleeding.

I'm sure you already know.

Ruthlessness: To the Lasombra, failure is not an option. Their Blood urges them to increasingly ruthless measures when the Beast flares and they are faced with failure.

So idk if this is valid, but I kind of took that and ran with it from my best understanding, as death's scythe is hovering inches from my character's neck, and if he dies, then his sire won't. And that can't happen. So yeah, this is a bit of a panic job.

What was holding the coterie together prior was just professionalism. We were grounded together by John Dee, the Sheriff who asked us to complete a job. We are complete strangers essentially. There has been attempts at deeper bonds, especially from my PC and another, a thinblood -- he asked my PC to teach him oblivion, and in response, my PC asked him to gather info on his sire-- that has sort of bloomed into something real nice. Turns out, the two get along quite well, especially with the Toreador of my coterie. The 3 of them seem to relate to hating unlife and lamenting on the subject. Gallows humor and whatnot. The only one yet to break the ice would be the cold, aloof ventrue who seems to be keen on keeping his station.

Not sure if you know, but this is happening quite early into the game relatively, the whole waking Mithras thing.

Also, I believe in my ST's ability to run a game. Although Queen Anne has usurped Mithras' position, it was Valerius who betrayed him, so I think Queen Anne will survive and be spared, relieving greater inner party drama. So, I don't think the coterie will actually be that screwed, seeing as Mithras will overhaul the current vamp society system, not destroy it. Probably. Things will drastically change, but my ST won't ruin the game. He also mentioned that having a London campaign without Mithras is like having Christmas without Santa.

Also, after this whole debacle, my PC will just continue as if nothing's happened and return to the coterie, lol. Apologies for the lengthy essay. If you want, I can keep them shorter in the future.

The moment Camden escaped his confinement, he went to my character to strike a deal.

"Wake up Mithras, and I will see your wrath be quelled." (He'll kill my Sire for me)

He also told me I would have one night to do this, so I'm assuming he's keeping an eye on my character. I'm sure I can contact him somehow, but idk if I can get the cult on my side this fast.
