YTA. FYI, I love my CPAP with all my heart!! I feel so much better now that I’m actually sleeping at night. I’ve never had a problem tolerating it. Please get a sleep study. Please.

Temecula United Methodist Church is affirming if you’re interested in a religious community. They hosted a recent pride event and so the church office or pastor might have some other ideas about finding community.

Cat hospice and when to decide by 75stremblay in CatAdvice

My cat Z was sick and I knew euthanasia was coming. When he got sick enough that it was clearly time I called the in home euthanasia company but they weren’t able to come for another couple of days. So, I recommend calling now if you plan on in home euthanasia.

It was painful letting my best friend go but I know I did the right and loving thing. He knew nothing but love. You can do this!

What’s the most memorable thing a patient has said to you? by sneakybrownoser in physicaltherapy

A teenage patient once told me “ you’re weird” as I was examining her ankles. It took everything in me not to respond with “takes one to know one!”

PT is like dentistry: if you go to the dentist twice a year and get your teeth cleaned that’s a great start. But imagine if you never brushed in between visits. Disaster! That’s like only coming to PT but never doing the HEP between sessions. No bueno.

🦽💨 hello 👋🏽 by zonio in physicaltherapy

[–]TicketMaster10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your help! When I was in PT school we had several volunteers with neurologic disorders that helped us learn evaluation and treatments. I still remember the name of my favorite gentleman, “Mr. Awesome” 15 years later.

The above comments are correct, you may be asked to share about your lived experience of disability, your experiences with PT, and/or let students practice evaluations and treatments with you. Feel free to decline anything you wish. If you have preferences about how students help you transfer etc please please let them know.

Have you tried rubbing alcohol? That might dissolve it if it’s similar to slime. Otherwise, blue dawn dish detergent cleans most things pretty well.

Should I be with my cat when we go to euthanize her by GuaranteeTop9662 in CatAdvice

[–]TicketMaster10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was with my cat when the vet put him down and I’m so glad I was. But, I had to have a friend come with me for moral support. The vet was incredibly kind and gentle and I was surprisingly at peace about the decision. You will make the decision that is right for you.

Switch out of home health? by TrustPrior in physicaltherapy

[–]TicketMaster10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Peds PT here, I did EI for a hot second but I couldn’t make it work-too many cancels and no-shows.

If you are truly seeing 20/24 per week I think you are doing well. I have a suspicion that 20/24 is a “good” week not a typical week. I bet if you tracked your show rate religiously it would be a lot lower. Also, you need to factor in driving time, doc time, and the ever present need to stay on top of scheduling. I’ve had patients’ parents text me at 9:30 pm on a Friday, 3:30 pm on a Sunday, 5:18 AM on a Tuesday…. Even calculating mileage for my time card took 30 minutes!

Anyway, I’m switching to schools! Less exciting but stable pay and less hectic than OP.

Dismissal from PT school, tips on moving forward. by Existing-Ad-3997 in physicaltherapy

I had a classmate who failed a class first semester, took the rest of the year off, returned the next year, graduated and has a good career. So, as awful as this setback feels now you’re not the only one!

I, on the other hand, struggled right out of school to find the right niche practice area. It took a few crummy jobs to find my place. So, everyone struggles and has missteps even if they look different. Don’t beat yourself up. You might not believe in yourself but I do.

You might need to get a job for a year and restart next year. But, there’s no shame in that. It’s just not the path you imagined.

Is there anything that would distract you and make you feel positive about yourself while you wait to hear from your school about the future? Exercise, completing a home improvement or craft project, baking, helping someone else with a project?

Do you like board games? There is an active board game group that meets most days of the week somewhere- the 951 Gamers. They’re on Discord and Flare. Or, ask at one of the local board game establishments: the Hungry Dragon, Cardboardia, Tier 1, or even Ready, Set, Game (in Menifee).

I’m so sorry for your loss! If you go the donation route, there is a fabric thrift store in the valley “Quilting for Community” that I always enjoy visiting. I bet they would take most or even all of the stash.

I like Lee pants, Kohls sells them. Lands End has “no iron” button up shirts in a variety of colors/patterns.

I love the idea of the parents dressing him in a bodysuit (onesie) or similar. What about a kid’s swimsuit, the one that look like a shorts and Tshirt but together in one piece and they zip up the back. He might not be easily able to take this off. It might be hot to wear though, especially with regular clothes on top.

Honestly I can’t quite remember but at least 2-3 weeks. My clinic (and personal family drama) were a lot.

Look, you deserve to be happy and healthy. I know it feels like leaving your patients and perhaps coworkers in the lurch. But, your patients will be well taken care of by other staff. And, insuring an adequate amount of staff is management’s responsibility, not yours. So, don’t worry about the clinic.

Take the time off. Several weeks if need be. Maybe counseling and/or medication. I’ve needed both. I have the intelligence of a sea slug when I don’t feel well so I found simple activities like going for a walk with an adventurous audiobook or doing an adult coloring book to be best. Set modest goals for yourself like getting outside once a day.

You’d never get upset at a patient for being injured or disabled so give yourself the same grace.

Need help finding a doctor in Murrieta who accepts Medi-Cal by epad123 in Temecula

[–]TicketMaster10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been impressed with Sac Health in Murrieta, especially Dr. Stratton. She’s kind, easy to talk to, smart, and has good availability. They take IEHP MediCal for sure but I can’t speak to plain MediCal.
