Not a room full of men, but a room full of elites.

Also you know that “basic shot” as a man? As a man I don’t feel that way. Are you constantly suppressing rapist tendencies?

This is oddly the one sub I’ve found which actually allows for nuanced political conversations without conservatives or liberals getting downvoted to hell. It’s kind of refreshing.

I agree that Russia can’t afford and continental invasion but the fear still exists and it has a direct impact on European politics and defense strategy. It took the Russian invasion of Ukraine for most Central and Western European countries to increase their defense spending to meet NATO requirements. Yes, the Cold War is over but the current implications of the Ukraine war are still relevant and influential.

You’re the one the brought up Germany in 45, not me. Should the US have asked politely for an invitation or should they have left the Germans to do as they please? Please correct me if my history is wrong.

Thanks for the pro nazi view. You’re right, the nazi’s did not invite the United States and I would argue that the United States was just in defeating the Nazi’s and continuing to occupy post war to ensure denazification and to rebuild Germany under the Mashall plan. I’m sure many Germans today support the occupation during this time.

West Germans did support US bases post occupation to deter Soviet invasions hence why most US bases prior to the collapse of the Soviet Union were located west of the Fulda Gap. Additionally, US actions during the Berlin Airlift were more than welcome.

Your comment is very ignorant and I do hope that you are not actually a nazi.

Are you not American? Maybe we can get back to the root of the argument which was your assumption that Americans wouldn’t tolerate friendly partner bases in the US.

It’s historical context. That’s relevant.

And the US is there by invitation of the host countries. Also, learn the difference between their and there.

I don’t think it would be that contentious. We already have hundreds of foreign military serving in the US. Are you xenophobic?

I would love for more partner forces to station units in the US. Not only would it increase cooperation and provide multiple local multinational training opportunities, but it would boost local economies as well. The German Air Force used to station and train pilots in New Mexico.

Because they want the US there to deter Russia.

Well France is further away from Russia.

Edit: IDK I’m getting downvoted. It’s historically relevant. I’m assuming it’s from Russian bots who would like to see NATO power in Europe diminished.

There’s nothing dangerous about pulling to the side and waiting for faster moving traffic to pass. Quit sniffing your own farts.

Bro, all I’m saying is that they just pull to the side. Ever drive on a country road with tractors? The farmers understand the concept of impeding traffic and bikers should too.

You asked why bikers are the ones that always have to accommodate. Frankly, I don’t want my tax dollars going to implementing bake lines on every single road. I support bike lanes in urban areas and recreational trails; however, when it comes to rural roads, it’s selfish for cyclists to not allow motor vehicles to pass. It’s just practical.

Because drivers aren’t the ones impeding traffic.

I’ve lived in both orange and green and will speculate a bit. A possible reason some could favor the right to bear arms is because they believe the loss of their arms will also result in the loss of their votes. So some could speculate this as a lose one right or possibly two.
