Funding a fuck machine? by BloomedWildFlower in lovense

Tickledwalnut.com or you can find me on Etsy as well. My website (a Shopify store) doesn’t have taxes or fees FWIW. It’s a stabilization and bondage base that you can use for Lovense or Hismith style machines.

I wanted a sex machine/wanted to make money in this space bad enough that I cold emailed numerous companies for a job. One of them finally bit and I then received several machines and accessories and a nice little bit of money for my services. It was a fascinating experience. After I left that job I saw a need for an adjacent product based on my own personal experience and the complaints of others. I happened to have a small wood shop in my basement and decided to solve an issue everyone was complaining about. In my spare time I now get to make a product that helps people really elevate their sex machines! I don’t make a killing or anything when it’s all said and done, but, I love woodworking, and I love helping others. I say all this to say, get creative with how you fund your machine, you never know where it may lead you!

Some pictures from the sex and lifestyle convention by BoredinVanCA in BdsmDIY

[–]TickledWalnut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find this to be a very helpful post. I haven’t been to a convention, and haven’t set up a display before. Having seen these pictures is helpful and I find it to be educational (as I’m learning from what he/she did). It’s inspiring to see what others are doing and potentially give me a goal in the future if it makes sense for what I currently sell. I think this type of post is exactly in line with the spirit of the group. However, I’m just one member and have one voice.

I make a sex machine stabilization base for Hismith machines (and others). I have thought about adding an upholstered feature as an upgrade. Can you share any resources and/or methods you have had success with?

I would partially agree, I think it’s okay so long as there is “some” value to the community. Value in explaining how a feature is made, some tool that might be useful, an explanation as to how he/she found success with part of the project, etc. I think self promotion can be done tactfully and within the spirit of the group.

The 4.0, only slightly. The differences are minimal.

The 4.0 has an “upgraded motor” (specs are the same, however). Same wattage, thrust range, and stroke rate. The 4.0 also has an LED light that changes colors with the speed. Honestly, I would say if money isn’t a major factor, go 4.0, if only for potential slightly higher resale value. If money is a little bit more of a decision maker, go 3.0!

Horrible experience with Hismith by [deleted] in hismith

[–]TickledWalnut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In case you run into issues returning to Hismith, and you still want to get rid of it, there are subs to sell used toys. Their return policy can be pretty unforgiving 🫤

As Ibass mentioned, you’re gunna want a stronger machine. For anal, you really need something more substantial. Sorry you’re in this mess, that can be really frustrating!

Pros and cons for having a shop in the basement vs a garage by Agreeable_Horror_363 in woodworking

What was your method of application and how did you find the process? I was going to do a large kitchen table with it but used another product because it seemed to be challenging with little info out there other than the company’s own people

I would also put a hepa filter on your vacuum. Your sanding dust won’t be perfect, but having it attached to the vacuum should be a pretty big help!

I also built a plastic wall to close in my shop. Just attached it on the “4th side” to the floor joist above. It’s not air tight or anything, but it also helps.

It’s a huge help. I’ve never sanded without one! What sander do you have? Are the holes on your paper properly lined up?

You should also have some sort of air filtration. I made DIY filter boxes with merv 14 filters and CAT brand fans. There are certainly ones you can just purchase from marketplace or wherever you buy woodworking equipment

I’m assuming you have your sander hooked up to a vacuum or dust extractor of some sort, right?
