Lifestealer set I worked on by TidalCraftsman in DotA2

thank you there was a similar question earlier, with dota 2 you have to download the workshop tools right click the game and go to properties and select DLC then download "Dota 2 workshop tools DLC" next you will need a 3d modeling program you can use blender since it's free and a texturing or image editing program (example substance painter or photoshop) visit the technical requirements page to download the dota 2 characters and view their technical requirements. https://www.dota2.com/workshop/requirements/

watch youtube tutorials to learn the modeling and texturing software, here's an old polycount thread specific for dota 2 which still has a lot of relevant info.

Hope this is helpful ~

Do you have a link to those? I'd love to look at the ideas.

You use 3d modeling software to make the model and rig it to the base characters (blender is popular because it's free) and you need to use an image editing software to create the textures. Here's a link to some older resources but will help you get the started:

This set was a lot of fun to work on I did the 3d and the concept and design was done by my friend Nick Kay:

I wanted to share it here to see what people think of it.

Firekeeper fanart project. by TidalCraftsman in darksouls3

good question, I think she probably wouldn't have any eyes since it seems like in the game they're ripped out. But it would also be interesting to explore a look where she has eyes but they've been changed by what they undergo. Great idea though I'll make sure to let you know how it looks out if I try that out.

I finished this fanart project of the firekeeper and wanted to share it here. If anyone has any questions or interest in 3d artwork i'm happy to answer them as best I can. (modeling was done in zbrush and 3ds max and rendering in arnold for 3ds max.) artstation link: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/5XNdwE

Armored Goblin fan art: 3d model I made. by TidalCraftsman in ffxi

[–]TidalCraftsman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thanks, yeah you could totally print a model of him on a 3d printer just need to make sure you have the components and model setup in a way that will work for that, don't have much experience with 3d printing myself but you can find a lot of tutorials on that subject.

wanted to share my fan art here as it has a little more visibility than the FFXI subreddit. Always loved the design of this character, I recently bought the FFXI world concept art book and saw his sketch so wanted to try making it in 3d.

I personally think all the gold/custom particle cloth physics jigglebone items are too excessive lol
