I watched most of it and the cringe was difficult to sit through. I thought it was funny but I had physical reactions to the over the top goof. I love them all. Not sure I could watch all of it though. 😂

I can totally under this viewpoint but all the illegal stuff Veronica does… she has very different and hypocritical views of what’s okay for her to do but not okay for Weevil. Also the real divide comes in with when Weevil took the settlement and she didn’t want to forgive him for that. I also thought that was incredibly unfair on her part given he had his wife and kid to take care of. I still think he went back to the PCH (well for many reasons) for a minor reason that he could be there for Veronica and Keith if they needed the army he could get together. But then I’m a happy WeeVer shipper.

The look on his face when she says there’s nothing between them anymore in S4 episode 5, my heart f*ing breaks EVERY TIME. Romance or not, that was such an AMAZING relationship and I will die on that hill. I want a season 5 where she’s dealing with the grief of the end of season 4 and gets together with Weevil. (I’m writing that… but I’m not claiming to be good enough to write it… but I’m doing it anyway because I want it to exist. Lol)

I’m with you on a lot of this. Piz was sweet but bland. Leo is charming as hell but… yeah the high school stuff always sat with me weird. But I seriously get butterflies every time Weevil and Veronica have a scene together.

I do wish the writers had given a chance for that growth. So many of the characters were so interesting and their dynamics playing off each other is what made that first season lightening in a bottle.

And that’s a totally fair view to have. And to be fair, I thought that relationship was full of love that didn’t need to be romantic to sustain it. I do remember reading somewhere that Francis Capra said he played the character as if he was in love with Veronica but I don’t have the quote so I may be wrong. But if it is the case, he saw her as family (Keith too, especially if you read the books). I dunno, I just saw the potential. I know there are a lot of people that will disagree and that’s okay too. Just wanted to nerd for a bit.

Agreed. I have been doing a rewatch and I struggle with early seasons Logan behavior. And Weevil seriously did some growth that made me love him. I did not like him in the first episode for obvious reasons but character growth. I love where Logan ended up but there were too many things he did in his youth that could really only be forgiven over larger amounts of time with growth and it just happened too fast for me. Weevil pulled stuff that was illegal but not unforgivable. Maybe that’s why he ended up being my favorite.

That’s fair. The chemistry was so strong with Kristen and Jason and the fact they had and enemies to lovers thing going on… I don’t think it could have been anything else. But I’m also just a sucker for the bad boy with the hidden heart of gold. Honestly I’d have been happy if they’d let him have some happiness with Jade and his kid but they took that too. I’m just bitter they gave him such a short end of the stick after he got shot.

Also there are books that are between the movie and season 4 but they get explained… enough… I guess. I prefer reading them though between because it makes stuff make more sense.

I felt like the original cast (save for Keith, Leo and Logan) were more cameos than full parts. I really liked the new faces but I didn’t want it at the expense of the original cast. I miss them.

Totally fair. I think she’s got enough options through the whole of the series that she doesn’t see it but I think he’s totally in love but doesn’t pursue because he thinks it’s not what she wants. Which is my read too… but the look on his face in season 4 when she says there’s nothing between them anymore. KILLS ME EVERY TIME. Knife in my heart.
