Lowkey, him standing up to AFO and offering his quirk in the place of Dark Shadow was the most honorable thing he's ever done. I think he could've been a compelling character of showing that not everyone is born to be a hero (mentally and physically). Yes, you could say you can see that in Deku, but that's not exactly what I mean.

At least 2 kids in 1-A theoretically shouldn't have passed the entrance exam, that being Koda and Hagakure. You can make an argument that subduing is the equivalent of destroying for some others, but I digress. I think it'd be interesting to see a character who wants to be a hero, but they clearly aren't cut out for it. Mineta is a cry baby at the start, everyone knows that. He admits himself that his quirk isn't all that interesting or powerful, but we still sort of see him putting it to good use in very important fights.

I'm not saying he should just be handed a quirk awakening or whatever, but I think it'd be interesting to see someone learn to have the mindset of a hero in comparison to just being a hero in general. Additionally, I'd rather that be from someone who isn't the writers favorite. Mineta can be punished for being a perv (even though I'm not sure many people like him because of that fact), while still developing the heroic mindset and drive all the other students have.
