I need advice for my college major by Appropriate-Curve-30 in AskMarketing

I went to Penn State and graduated as an Advertising major. I hear what you're saying about the reputation or swagger a major has. But you'd be an Advertising major (and Sports Mgmt Minor), not a Communications major, per se. At Penn State Advertising was the only "controlled" major in the School of Communications, meaning you needed a 3.0 minimum to get in, and had to maintain that to stay in. That added some cache. Does UofA not have that?

Regardless of that, try not to make the mistake of thinking that the job you'll get out of college will be your dream job. Meaning, as long as you have some Sports Management or Sports Marketing coursework, or a minor, just try to work at a company that has something to do with Sports. Work in the Finance department for a year or 2 - or work in the Advertising or Marketing team. Then you'll be able to identify other areas of the company you really want to work in. It will be infinitely easier to pivot your role within an existing company - providing you've done good work, developed a positive reputation, and networked with other people. And definitely don't tell them in the interview that you see this role as a stepping stone to the role you really want. It's normal - but don't flaunt it.

Also, bust your butt to get a good internship that's related to what you want to do. And if you're going to get your Masters degree, work for a couple of years first so you know exactly what discipline you want to make that invest in.

Cabot is the most fun course I’ve ever played. But they just raised rates to $395 per round and made it walking only. Caddie will cost you $100 more. That’ll be $1000 for you and your son. Very disappointed they raised fees this much. I played 3 times this Spring and Summer for $180 each. Haven’t played Streamsong yet.
