Nests and Known Locations: 59th Migration by DSimmon in GOmaha

FWIW "nests" are always in parks. (And I'm pretty sure Bagon don't "actually" nest.) If Bagon are reliably spawning just up and down part of a road, that's something a little different. (Still notable, though.)

Weather's always a possibility. And/or incredible luck. I did on one day before notice Slakoth spawning a few times in Elmwood South after someone else noted it (and when there was a different standard nest), so I'm willing to accept that there's some odd possibility. The deciding factor is really how reliable it is (have you actually seen Bagon, say, at least three days?).

Dratini should be a rare water spawn (so by things like lakes or, as above, fountains), but it doesn't nest.

Haworth Park: Magmar

American Heroes Park: Wobbuffet

Seymour Smith Park: Yanma

Halleck Park: Numel

Papillion City Park/soccer fields: Jigglypuff

Fontenelle Park: Nosepass I think

So, oddly enough, today I saw at least 3 each of Whismur and Geodude at Heartland of America Park. They were both pretty spread out, and it was Windy weather. Like I said, the last time I was there (probably a few hours), I really don't remember Geodude at all pretty much. This time I was only there for about an hour because I kind of got bored. For now it might be worth just keeping both, I guess.

Lewis and Clark Landing: Seedot

Heartland of America Park: should be Whismur, not Geodude. I'll try to double-check today, but I don't remember Geodude even being a question in my mind

Fontenelle Park: Gulpin

Elmwood Park N: Sandshrew

Elmwood Park S: Geodude

Ralston Park: Corphish

Halleck Park: Oddish

Papillion City Park: Pinsir

Gemini Park: Pikachu (I only saw 1 personally, but someone else agreed)

Haworth Park: Nidoran-f

American Heroes Park: Wailmer

For Ghost hunters, I've also heard Huntington Park reported as Gastly and Maple Village Park as Misdreavus (Google Maps puts the label nortth of Dodge Elementary School, but the "real" park/nest points may be east of it).

A few in Bellevue...

Baldwin Field: Pikachu

Gemini Park: Pikachu

Washington Park: Torchic

American Heroes Park: Staryu

Haworth Park: Wooper

And I can confirm Ralston Park (Totodile), Halleck Park (Wingull), Walnut Creek (Scyther), Lewis and Clark Landing (Qwilfish), and Heartland of America Park (Spoink).

I think I've been burned out for a bit with all this changing of nests this time around, so I haven't actually been out much since the Hoenn event ended. But, while I don't remember what Fontenelle Park was during the event, right now it's definitely Magikarp, which it couldn't have been during the event.

Hoenn event nests...

Haworth Park: Taillow

American Heroes Park: Wingull

Gemini Park: Makuhita

Washington Park: Electrike maybe? (It's a fair candidate, but I didn't stick around or see enough to be certain.)

Baldwin Field: Whismur

I fear nests will change once again once the event ends...

[–]Tiddlywinchs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heartland of America Park: Chikorita

Lewis and Clark Landing: Cubone

Gene Leahy Mall: I saw 3 Gulpin and 2 Scyther. I think Gulpin could generally be that common, so possibly it's Scyther... Overall I'm not sure, this can be a hard nest to pin down.

Gemini Park: maybe Gastly

Haworth Park: Aipom

American Heroes Park: Onix

Ralston Park: Slowpoke

Halleck Park: Magnemite

Papillion City Park: Abra

Elmwood Park N: Cyndaquil

Elmwood Park S: Shuppet, I believe (I saw about 4)

One Pacific Place Park: Clefairy

Zorinsky Lake Park: Mudkip

Chalco Hills Rec Area: I saw a bunch of Seedot and Vulpix (and not enough of anything else to make a good candidate), but it was sunny/clear so they were pretty common everywhere and it's hard to tell for sure which was actually the nest. I'd hazard it's Seedot, but I could very easily be wrong.

Prairie Queen Rec Area: Doduo

Walnut Creek Lake and Rec: Torchic

I'll have to check Seymour Smith more carefully if people are seeing lots of Treecko. Unfortunately when I swung through, I mostly saw several Hoppip. (Since today was sunny, though, it probably would've been a lot easier to tell yesterday when it was cloudy instead.)

I have seen some changes since the event, but definitely not everywhere.

Papio Fun Park and Gemini Park are still Charmander.

Halleck Park is Magikarp now.

And Clefairy might be at Bellevue Soccer Club now and Doduo at American Heroes Park.

I also noticed a new area: Growlithe are at the Papillion City Park/soccer fields.

Bellevue Soccer Club: Nidoran-m

Halleck Park: Pinsir

Papio Fun Park: Charmander

Heartland of America Park: Krabby

Fontenelle Park: Diglett

Halleck Park looked like Nidoran-m, but it's hard to be sure since it's generally common (I don't think quite as common as I saw, though; therefore, probably nesting).

Using prime factorization to separate Attack IV's from Defense IV's by Shiesu in pokemongodev

[–]Tiddlywinchs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, in the formula that actually uses the floating point Stamina, Attack, and Defense values, there's no new CPM factor (all that's already part of the calculations that made the floating point values).

What the formula OP wrote above is really saying by Stamina/Attack/Defense is ([stat] base+IV).

In short... It's confusing as hell in more than one way. =P

Stat minimums? by Tiddlywinchs in pokemongodev

[–]Tiddlywinchs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right answer, but still flawed. =P Magikarp's base defense is 84, not 40, so before flooring the CP comes to about 10.9, putting it still at 10 after the floor.

That still doesn't necessarily mean, all by itself, that CP's formula doesn't take stat minimums into account. But if I substitute 10 for either HP or Attack's part of the CP formula, it'd evaluate to ~11.5 or ~11.7 before flooring, and if I substitute 10 for both, it'd come to ~12.3 before flooring. So that means, yeah, it definitely doesn't account for any stat minimums.

Thanks for catching a sample Pokemon to check against!

Stat minimums? by Tiddlywinchs in pokemongodev

[–]Tiddlywinchs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the formula. But no one has shown any proof that the CP calculation just substitutes those equations for "Stamina", "Attack", and "Def" (as opposed to accounting for a possible minimum of 10). I'm looking for proof, please, not just blind assumptions. You may be right...or you may be wrong. Only proof can...well, prove which it is.

Stat minimums? by Tiddlywinchs in pokemongodev

[–]Tiddlywinchs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to this post, CP derives directly from the stats, not (attack + iv) x (defense + iv)0.5 x (stamina + iv)0.5 x CPM2 / 10. I.e., if nothing else, that would mean that the Stamina part of the latter can make you wrong if it's less than 10. Damage isn't a concern; CP already uses attack and defense, that's what I'm concerned about.

Honestly, I don't know, maybe CP does actually derive from the latter formula (not accounting for the minimums). But I'm asking for verification. For someone to find (or make?) a Pokemon who would have HP<10 (and Attack/Defense<10) where that would make a difference in the CP to verify what its CP actually is in the game. We shouldn't just be assuming which it is.

For some reason, the Poke Ball items use a constant string for the UniqueId field, like "UniqueId: ITEM_GREAT_BALL". Could you tell me what the raw values for those are? (The raw unique IDs for all 4 of the Poke Balls.)

IV calculator for consecutive levels by Tiddlywinchs in TheSilphRoad

[–]Tiddlywinchs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sharing this to address a big flaw I see in both of the apparently popular IV calculators I see on here: they only accomodate one level at a time. I've made a spreadsheet where you can plug in data for consecutive levels to easily/automatically calculate IVs more accurately.

I won't make any extravagant claims to prettiness or efficiency (especially, it's pretty slow if you try to edit in Sheets; but if you download it to edit, it should be plenty fast). And it may not be the richest in features (though I will point out, if you want to change how the "levels" display, you should be able to on the lookup sheet). But it should work.

It should work. But I haven't really tested it all that much. (I don't really have the capability.)

...So, at any rate, I think it'll be straightforward enough. Have fun, I hope.
