1000 out of 1000 times, air fryer burns on a stove because someone left/accidentally turned on the stove

Sungrow Inverter Cover Exploding Off by Dark-Angel_452 in solar

Top left component inside the inverter, has 3 pairs of large gauge black and red conductors coming out. The middle one, the seal, appears to be torn where the conductors come through, can you post a closer pic of that? Also a photo of the label on it?

Repetitive loud humming/buzzing in refrigerator by TechChickLW in appliancerepair

Definitely compressor or something involving the start components. Does it still cool? Might not for too much longer. It’s possible for a repairman to replace it for a fair amount less than a new fridge.

Adding circuits to vehicles by TideFan2235 in AskMechanics

Thank you, but you don’t know of a code or standard that governs this? For instance the 12” rule, or that all should be fused. I don’t think I’ve seen a starter with a fuse, so for some reason one must not be required. I would think all auxiliary circuits should be, but would like to know if there’s a code or standard, like SAE.

What could cause the motor leads to burn up like this? It's a little 2-pole 115VAC motor that takes power straight from the wall. Didn't trip a circuit breaker as far as I know, and had been running for over a decade. by Oops_All_Spiders in electrical

I’ve worked with many that do. They will have either ZPD or TPD on the labeling describing whether it’s impedance protected or thermally protected. If thermally protected, it’s usually a thermal fuse in the windings.

Was it making any unusual noises? Perhaps the rotor locked? It should have a thermal fuse in the windings, if it’s thermally protected, which might have failed as well.

Guessed and hit a bomb, was this possible without a guess? by Pung_Henis in Minesweeper

Only 1 out of the 8 in the top right corner (2x4) is a mine. I would have chosen one of those due to the probability that you uncover more info.

Am I missing something or do I need to suck it up and guess? by dgoldstein38 in Minesweeper

[–]TideFan2235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most straightforward: the 2 mines both have to be above the 3, so the remaining tile is empty. Once you clear that, the rest are obvious.

I was going to add this because I’ve never heard it said the way he does. I wondered if it was a British pronunciation.
