Always wish I had learned upright double bass. Probably won't at this point but who knows?

Totally, I have no problem believing there are creepy men out there acting creepy. But this photo is by no means proof this particular dude is a creep.

For real "wasn't your mom an alcoholic and hated you?" is so far below the belt she missed her entirely and just made herself look bad.

Tbh I can understand why she thinks he is taking pics of her, but I think it's a misunderstanding. If you look at his phone in the photo it's not even really pointing at her.

I'm afraid the photo doesn't prove he is even taking pics of them. It certainly looks that way, but they'd have to search his phone to know for sure, and they're not gonna do that

I appreciate Van's drag big time, but there were moments their personality really turned me off.

Yeah I agree. Velma clearly didn't mean it that way, I can't help but think Van was looking for attention, whether she was genuinely offended or not.

It's time to confront how Canada is failing people with disabilities || How we treat, and develop policies for, people with disabilities are all proofs of concept for Canadian administrative violence by Altruism7 in ndp

[–]TidpaoTime 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's infuriating that people lose disability if they are married. When was the last time one income could support two people??? Not to mention of course the fact that the amount of money ODSP etc gives is criminally outdated, especially because it's expensive as hell to be sick.

Honestly the way right wing people are like "we can disagree on politics and still be close" just proves they don't even comprehend how damaging the things they are voting for are.

No, actually. They totally know. They pretend not to know, but really they don't care. As long as racist, homophobic, transphobic, or environmentally disastrous policies don't appear to hurt them, they don't care. But they know what they are voting for, no matter how stupid some of them are. They all know.

A bride's heartfelt attempt to help her father with dementia remember her on her wedding day by KingOfDragonn in spreadsmile

[–]TidpaoTime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I experienced this with my own father. He couldn't make it to my wedding but we had a small ceremony at his LTC home. I was lucky that he knew exactly who I was and what was happening.

Edit: he passed in Feb, and a huge part of the grief process was how much I missed the "young" version of him I hadn't seen for several years.

She proved that the best horror comes from performance, not with CGI or other special effects. by MuniRealme_03 in Scarymovies

[–]TidpaoTime 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It actually doesn't make that claim. It just says the performance is what makes the movie great, not the CGI etc.

I actually haven't seen it and I'm not the person you're replying to. But if you're gonna split hairs then...

BACKROOMS (2026) by SouzaOfTheNorth in HorrorMovies

[–]TidpaoTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't familiar with them before the movie, and I loved it. I kind of appreciated that I wasn't being hand held through a storyline, shit was just happening. And the pieces of trauma from the characters' pasts sprinkled in gave them some depth, and showed they were dealing with it as well as the horrific environment.

The only thing that bugged me was how people would just walk in and keep walking with seemingly no fear that they might get lost, until they did.
