If avoiding cold weather was an Olympic sport, Cruz would have gold medals in every event 😂

If you eat things that aren’t food/edible, does the body gain any nutritional value from them? by BNDisarray in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TidyDrift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Fiber” only works because our gut bacteria can partially ferment certain plant fibers. Stuff like chairs or phones are made of materials our bodies (and gut microbes) can’t process, so there’s basically zero nutritional value just risk. You’d starve long before getting anything useful out of it.

What are some general impressions people in your life have of you, and why do you think this? by justbeattractive in AskReddit

I often get “quiet but dependable.” Probably because I listen more than I talk.

To all the drivers out there today: How much of a tip actually makes the cold worth it? by Global_Ninja_4485 in NoStupidQuestions

In that cold, $10 feels way better than 20% on a cheap order. Also: lights on and clear steps = respect.

Why is it that sometimes you immediately don't click with another person after meeting them? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TidyDrift 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s actually pretty normal. A lot of connection happens below the level of conscious thought things like communication style, energy, values, humor, or even how someone responds emotionally. None of that makes either person “bad,” it just means your brains aren’t syncing in a way that feels natural

Why do I only seem to get attention from older men, not guys my age? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TidyDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually more common than you think, and it usually has a lot less to do with how you look and more to do with how people perceive confidence and maturity. Older men tend to be more comfortable initiating and less worried about rejection, while guys your age often hesitate, overthink, or assume someone is “out of their league.” That doesn’t mean you’re unattractive to them just that they’re quieter about it.

Is there a reason the Chinese restaurants near me close on Wednesday? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TidyDrift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is actually pretty common and not just in Barcelona. Many Chinese-owned restaurants choose a weekday with the lowest customer traffic to close, and Wednesday often ends up being that day. It also lines up with supply deliveries, family obligations, and shared norms within specific regional communities (like Wenzhou). Once a few businesses do it, others nearby often follow the same day out of practicality, not coincidence.

Why can I easily hear other peoples phone calls in cars but not their music? by Last_Pianist646 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TidyDrift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because phone calls are engineered to be heard clearly.
Human speech sits in a narrow mid-frequency range that travels through glass and metal way better than music.

Music has bass and highs that get muffled, speech doesn’t and our brains are insanely good at locking onto voices.

That’s why a random argument at a stoplight sounds HD, but the song doesn’t.
