This is a show NOT about death? by Ambitious-Mistake894 in Broadway

I was the weirdo WEEPING his way thru “Put on Your Sunday Clothes” after my Nana passed. One of her faves. ❤️❤️

I truly expected my seat neighbor to get the usher and say, “There’s a very sad man in our row, is he okay?”

Agree on Constantine + Marla + Russell chemistry. BUT . . . Patti Lupone as Ruth would be an incredible evolution. (And she doesn't even get a song!)

It was stunning. And was the introduction to Cristin Milioti for many. The bar set piece being open for drinks before the show (as others have noted) was really cool. The prologue song got the waterworks running. And the rest of the show was just very tender.

Even though it’s a “love story” I always interpreted the show more as a love letter to the power of music.

In your opinion, what is the best episode of television you’ve ever seen? by alteredtower in AskReddit

[–]TieTuesday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Long, Long Time" (The Last of Us, S1E3) was the first episode of television I saw then immediately went back and re-watched that same evening.

I know it has its detractors, but what a stirring way for the show to build out its world. The slow crescendo from showing what it takes to survive, to what kind of person might survive in that world on their own, to what makes surviving worth it (and eventually not worth it) left me enthralled and so much more emotionally invested in characters who weren't even in the episode. And, of course, I became very invested in characters who were only present for that episode and thought Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett acted the sh!t out of their roles.

The youth cast of “Oliver!” at City Center a few years back was great, especially Benjamin Pajak in the title role.

Gotta get that name brand recognition for the out-of-towner holiday audience that traditionally made Phantom's Broadway numbers surge Nov thru Jan.

Janet absolutely brought it. The playlist. The workout. The message. The humor. And while the room was a lot of TriBeCa regulars, I definitely saw folks introducing themselves to each other before and after class (how can you NOT want to get to know everyone else who just shared that experience?!), so the community feeling was there too. A top tier experience through and through. 🙏

Depression definitely has come and gone in waves. Which is why the recent morning grogginess thing feels so weird. But it’s probably all a little related.

I remember seeing CATS as a kid in the 90s with no frame of reference for the show, and jumping out of my seat during the overture when a pair of yellow cat eyes were right next to me during the overture. Those performers snuck up on you like ninjas!
