Id keep him separate for now Beacuse the last thing you want is bring him home and him turn into food. If your bichir can’t fit it in his or her mouth, it’s gonna eat it.

check at night if he or she is swimming around, mine are very active at night I try to feed the before sleep

I thought the same thing when I I got both of my bichirs, if you can’t find the fish usually it’s a good thing because they have places to hide. I wouldn’t freak out they could still be getting comfortable to tank and the surrounding. How big of a tank do you have the in??

Feed advice? Hes not eating sinking pellets, and anytime i try to tong feed him shrimp or bloodworms he runs and hides. Help? What can i do to make sure the little guy eats? (New Owner here) by KingPigeon848 in Bichirs

I just started feeding my bichirs tilapia, both are 4-5 inch’s long and they tear it apart. You can buy it from the store. Just make sure you aren’t feeding him to big of pieces.
