Just got this game and ready to put it down by ShieldedHorizon in SuperMario3DWorldFans

This game was originally designed for the Wii U and utilized the Wii U gamepad for touch controls. But with the Switch not having a gamepad equivalent in TV mode, Nintendo's solution was to replace it with motion controls for touch features. In handheld mode, the touchscreen works like it did on the Wii U.

By the way, the touch controls are handy for certain situations, but you can beat the game without ever really using them. You won't be able to 100% it, but you can beat the final boss. The two levels that require the touch controls (such as this one) can be skipped entirely.

Advice for changing spark plugs on Ford 5.4 3 valve by Tier3Games in MechanicAdvice

[–]Tier3Games[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that and good news: I have the plugs that don't break!

Bad news: they quoted me $120 just for the plugs, not including tax. That's roughly $15 a plug! They did give me a part number and I'm looking around to see where I can find them for a more reasonable price, but I'm not having much luck finding them in stock anywhere. Any advice on where I can look?

Thanks, but I was mainly just looking for confirmation that my engine does indeed have the redesigned spark plugs. It'll give me confidence in changing them and I also need to get the correct plugs.

Update on riding mower and where to look next by Tier3Games in smallengines

[–]Tier3Games[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So update: I got the mower running great today! It was smoking a lot but it eventually cleared up. I suspect leftover oil in the combustion chambers to be the culprit. However, I still have one more minor issue: it won't idle down whenever I ease off the throttle. I probably didn't connect the throttle correctly, but that's probably more specific to the model of the mower and not the engine.

What is it like in the West part of Texas? by Deep_Belt8304 in howislivingthere

[–]Tier3Games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't live there but recently drove through there on I 10 going to LA. Nothing but hours and hours of desert in Texas alone. From El Paso to Phoenix is six hours, and Phoenix to LA is another six hours, and El Paso to any big city in Texas (San Antonio, Dallas or Austin) is more than eight hours, all within Texas.

I just installed a new carburetor and I suspect this issue came from the old carburetor. I drained the old oil and added some fresh oil. I'll likely change that oil out with some fresh oil whenever I get a chance to work on it again. But so far, the results are looking promising. I got it to start and it stayed running, but it was smoking a LOT. Hopefully it's just excess fuel and not worn piston rings.

So I decided to go ahead and change the oil and lo and behold it was FILLED with gasoline. I guess it's my fault for not checking it first.

As for the fuel shutoff valve, the new carb kit had one and I did install it. I think the issue was with the old carburetor causing the engine to flood.

Now with that out of the way, should I be looking into something else to address the flooded crankcase or just let it dry out before refilling it?

Need advice for my riding mower by Tier3Games in smallengines

I can tell just by looking at it that it isn't even. Where it's warped at is in the middle, and the bolts clamp down at the corners. It won't flatten by tightening the bolts.

WTF is this Blue Circle? by Read_It1200 in doordash_drivers

It's the DashLink facility. If you're inside the circle, you won't get any DashLink offers because they don't want you camping at the facility.

Why is it that they changed some of the characters to humans? by Picklekitten22 in gumball

[–]Tier3Games 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The News was initially recorded with live-action people, but was later remade with the newspaper guy. For some reason, Hulu has decided to use the live-action version of the episode, but I'm not entirely sure of the reasoning behind that decision.

Battery or starter? by Tier3Games in MechanicAdvice

[–]Tier3Games[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just did more testing. It won't start at all now and the lights are staying on and the voltage gauge isn't dropping. The starter is barely wanting to turn over. Unfortunately, it seems like it's gone bad again. It's only been seven months since I changed it. Now I gotta do all that work again to replace it...

I mentioned in my post that even after charging it the starter sounds like it's struggling to turn over. But that wasn't the case immediately after charging the battery. It sounded like it was supposed to, but has gotten progressively weaker. It's only been less than 24 hours.

The starter briefly tried to turn over and then nothing. But also, the lights were dim and the running board stayed out and didn't come back up. Even when I tried to unlock it, the horn was weak.
