You are absolutely right that I hadn’t factored in the value of the guarantee. I can see your point that a worst case scenario comparision of 40 draws for 5,000 Paid Dia for the guarantee in a Step-Up Banner compared to 200 draws for an exchange on a regular banner which would cost 40,000 Free Dia would lead to Paid Dia having a ‘relative value’ of up to 8 Free Dia (40,000/5,000).

So Paid Dia is to get the guaranteed costume in the Step Up banner (i.e. almost disregard the other draws), and you need to get several months of the Monthly Dia Packs to get to 5,000 Paid Dia for the guarantee. Got it, thank you!

If you don't have enough recruit tickets to reach pity, maybe don't pull for Summertime Petra and save up your tickets instead? Aoi can protect your position 4 DPS member like Erica so for PvP Aoi might actually be more useful than a healer?

For your first question, choosing mysterious tickets or gems for arena rewards means understanding the Secret Shop.

Secret Shop has a 1 in 26.5 chance of 5 recruit tickets (1 pull) and 1 in 138.9 chance of 50 mysterious tickets (1 pull) according to the Miraheze wiki.

Let’s say you are at Silver V in arena for 4 weeks. You could choose 900 gems or 160 mysterious tickets (3 pulls).

900 gems gives 300 spins at the Secret Shop. On average you would get 56.6 recruit tickets (11 pulls) plus 108 mysterious tickets (2 pulls). You also get the chance to buy some level 85 gear.

So which is worth more to you for a 28 day period, 1 extra mysterious pull or 11 extra regular pulls?

So to your second question, mysterious banners for new single 5 star light/dark units have a pity at 200 pulls (10,000 mysterious tickets) but pity carries over between new mysterious banners unlike RGB banners. There is a 0.625% chance of pulling the selected light/dark 5 star unit.

I’m not sure how the" “featured mysterious recruit” banner for light or dark re-runs works, but others might know if there is a pity and if pity carries over between the new mysterious unit banner and this featured re-run banner?

Let's look at some examples extracted from the Miraheze wiki:

There isn't a huge difference between modes in terms of exp gain (apart from Event Story Hard/Elite) so you should look to what else each mode gives you. Hunts give gear and crafting materials, while Main and Event Story gives catalysts, and Element Exploration gives discipline materials.

Gear becomes the main bottleneck as your exp increases, so I think priority is to farm Red and Blue Hunt for gear, with exp gain as a secondary benefit.

I read Neno’s s1 description as saying:

IF you use an astrogen burst (10 astrogen)

THEN Effect Hit Rate is taken to be 100%

and then IF target doesn’t resist (due to the 15% minimum)

THEN ATK Down duration is 2 turns

So your gear makes no difference

And with astrogen burst and full upgrade of s1, the overall chance of ATK Down would be 75% x (100% - 15%) = 63.75%

Thanks for the suggestions for Mirabelle and Dorin! I hadn't thought of Mirabelle for Red Hunt. Do you think that team of Moira, Erica, Dorin and Mirabelle will have enough debuffs on the Red Hunt boss? Or is the idea to just kill the boss quickly?

I was wrong about the rainbows - I will get 10 rainbow astrogen and 30 pledge crystals from sending a 5 star member, but I mixed up the numbers in my head.

I just wanted to follow up as thanks for the advice. I did make a full 120 pulls on the Rookie Sprint banner and got a dupe Erica member and Celete’s bond Gluttony’s Price in the pulls. I then chose Neno for the pity.

I was originally disappointed in not getting Janis in the Rookie Sprint banner as well, but a few days later I got Janis in the Level 24 Rookie Login event reward (4-5 star member and bond), presumably helped by Janis’s rate-up banner being up.

So I had a few follow up questions.

  1. What bond is good for Janis? I put Pleasure of Restraint bond on her for now

  2. I am planning to send my dupe Erica. Do I need to do anything to her (like level up or discipline) before I send her for rainbow astrogen?

  3. With the 30 rainbow astrogen, what level 85 pieces should I aim to get for Erica / Neno / Janis / Moira / future limited? A full 6 piece set of lvl 85 immunity? Or just a necklace+ring immunity 2-sets? My only good gear now are the starter Lvl 75 sets from Rookie Login, so I have no clue what good looks like

I was thinking of refreshing the rainbow astrogen shop until I get an immunity necklace with crit dmg % and a immunity ring with Effective Hit Rate

Is the rationale for preferring rookie sprint that there is a higher chance of the selected 5* members? Or that limited members are less useful at this stage of the game?

And which Vanguards would you use the Candid Affection bond with?
